Neil Tennant has suggested that the members of Girls Aloud should look at the solo career of Gary Barlow when considering a split from the band.

The Pet Shop Boys singer told the NME that there were lessons to be learned from the faltering efforts of the Take That singer when the group broke up last decade.

Tennant said: "I can't help but feel Cheryl will have the most successful solo career because she's just really famous.

"I would rather none of them went down that road. There are lessons to be learned from Gary Barlow's solo career."

Despite rumours of the individual members recording music without their bandmates, Girls Aloud have insisted that they are not about to break up.

Robbie Williams will not be rejoining Take That, Gary Barlow has said.

At the end of last month a national newspaper quoted Williams as saying a reunion was "looking more likely by the week".

But speaking during the recording of Chris Moyles' Quiz Night, Barlow said: "People constantly ask if Robbie will rejoin us but nothing has changed.

Barlow, 38, was the creative force behind the original Take That. In its first incarnation, with Robbie Williams, Britain’s most successful boy band sold more than 19m records, earning about £80m worldwide between 1991 and 1996, when it split. The band re-formed — without Williams — for a sell-out tour in 2006 and have been recording and touring ever since. A million tickets have reportedly been sold for this summer’s tour. Gary Barlow wants to duet with Tony Hadley.

The Take That star and the Spandau Ballet singer - who became friends because they have both been criticised for their "fluctuating weight" - plan to start working on their collaboration later this year.

Tony said: "I'm hoping to start writing with Gary after the Spandau shows and we've started talking about it. I love Gary, he's great."

1980s hitmakers Spandau Ballet recently announced they have reunited, 20 years after they went their separate ways.

Tony has claimed the group was brought back together through alcohol.

He said: "We had a few pints together and actually got on extremely well. We realised what a great force the five of were.

"It took a while but it's amazing what beer can do. It's been nice to bury the hatchet, but not in each other's heads."

Tony and the other members - John Keeble, Gary Kemp, Martin Kemp and Steve Norman - have confirmed they will play a reunion tour in October.

The uber talented Gary Barlow has agreed to write new material for the hit 80’s band Spandu Ballet. Gary is the main writer for Take That and has been praised by many for his song writing skills. Tony Hadley, Spandu Ballets front man, has expressed his excitement about working with Gary saying “I love Gary, he’s great”.

Both stars initially bonded over the media’s focus and criticism of their weight. They have also found common ground with the fact they are both members of groups that have reformed. Tony surely will hope to have even a fraction of the success Take That have had with their reunion. Take That have rocketed back into the limelight claiming the number 1 album position with The Circus. Their UK Circus Tour 2009 starts on the 5th of June in Sunderland and will be arriving in Glasgow on the 19th, 20th and 21st June 09. An additional date was put on in Glasgow due to their massive fan base here.

Starmania winner Oliver Wimmer has revealed Take That member Gary Barlow has contributed a song for his upcoming record.

Burgenland-based Wimmer, who won the fourth edition of Austria’s pop-music casting format Starmania earlier this year, said: "I regard it as an honour that such a great songwriter was working for me.

"But I would not have decided to sing the song had I not liked it. I did not chose it judging by the name of its author," Wimmer added.

Wimmer stressed he had had his say about which musical direction will be taken on his album "14 Hours," which will be released on 22 May.

The 18-year-old will also perform "All Blessings Fall", the Barlow-penned track, on his upcoming tour which includes 17 concerts all-over Austria. The tour starts on 6 May with a gig in Bruck an der Mur and ends on 21 August with a performance at the City Festival of Linz.

Wimmer said: "Starmania was a lot of fun, but I feel more independent now. I’ll perform with my own band. We will play rock songs as well as acoustic ballads."

Gary Barlow will be rich until he dies.

The Take That singer - who penned most of the band's hit records, including 'Back For Good' and 'Never Forget' - has never embarked on a frugal lifestyle, despite his 10-year break from the band, because he has more money than he needs.

He said: 'The first time around I was the only songwriter, so I'm OK until the day I die. Sure you don't have to lose your house, but money is no comfort when you lose your career. In 1993 I realised I had more money than I could ever spend, so from that point I never worried about money.'

The 38-year-old star also admits he was shocked by the reaction the band - also consisting of Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen - received when they reformed in 2006.

Gary explained: 'From doing this comeback tour and releasing an album, it's just blown up. For me, it's been more successful than the first time round. And it feels a lot more comfortable - we're much happier than the first time around so it feels fantastic.'
