Теперь, все желающие имеют возможность участвовать в аукционе и приобрести, кстати, совсем не дешево, написанные от руки в порыве творческой мысли, тексты таких знаменитых хитов как, «Message in a Bottle» Стинга, «Girls on Film» Дюран Дюран, «Don't Cry for me Argentina» Тима Райса, «Road to Hell» Криса Ри, и многие другие.

CBBC show Horrible Histories won three awards at the Children's Baftas, where former Play School presenter Brian Cant picked up the special award.

On a strong night for the BBC, Horrible Histories won best comedy, best writing and best performer for Jim Howick.

Gary Barlow presented CBeebies with best channel while Up won best film.

Cant, 77, said in his speech: "When I became a man I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child and they paid me for it.

Classic lyrics go on sale to help kids’ cancer charity
December 07, 2010

Lyrics written by Gary Barlow will be sold for charity

Handwritten lyrics from some of Manchester’s top musicians are to be sold to help raise £50,000 for a children’s cancer charity.

Graham Gouldman, of 10cc fame and Take That’s Gary Barlow have joined artists including Sir Paul McCartney,Sting and Annie Lennox by donating lyrics for the auction to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The charity is devoted to improving the lives of teenagers and young adults with cancer.

Altogether, 25 writers have donated lyrics of some of their most famous songs and they are expected to sell for around £50,000 at Bonhams in London on December 15.

Broughton-born Gouldman, 64, has supplied a signed and framed set of lyrics for 10cc’s 1975 number one hit, I’m Not In Love, which he and Droylsden-born Eric Stewart wrote.

The song was recorded at Strawberry Studios, in Stockport. Gouldman’s lyrics are expected to sell for between £1,500 and £2,500.

Before he, Stewart, Kevin Godley and Lol Creme formed 10cc, Gouldman played in a number of Manchester bands, including The High Spots, The Crevattes,The Planets and The Whirlwinds.

10cc became one of the most successful British groups of the 1970s and recorded a string of top ten hits, including three number ones: Rubber Bullets, I’m Not In Love and Dreadlock Holiday.

Alongside the lyrics for I’m Not In Love, other handwritten lyrics in the Bonhams auction include Why don’t we do it in the road? by Sir Paul McCartney (pre-sale estimates: £8,000 to £12,000); Thriller by Rod Temperton (£3,000 to £5,000); Back For Good by Gary Barlow, Message In A Bottle by Sting and Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This) by Annie Lennox, all expected to raise between £1,500 and £2,500.

TAKE That’s Gary Barlow was left seething by Alan Carr’s boyfriend.

The pair met at a London awards bash attended by the camp comic.

But stylist and events organiser Paul kept pretending to mistake Gary for bandmate Robbie Williams, 36.

WIN A LUXURY CRUISE TRIP FOR TWO WORTH £2,500!

And he then asked what it was like “being in JLS”.

Gary, 39, tolerated the jibes, but later he sent an email to his pal, comic Michael McIntyre.

The stand-up star, 34, was at the same function but missed the incident. Michael revealed: “It said: ‘While you were on stage, it was all happening upstairs.’

“He went on: ‘Paul kept calling me Robbie and saying I was in JLS. He thought it was funny. Alan thought it was embarrassing. And I’m thinking “violence”.'”

Cheeky Michael spilled the beans during the recording of camp comic Alan’s Channel 4 chat show Chatty Man which airs tonight at 10pm.

Alan, 34, admitted: “It was all a bit embarrassing.”

Martin may wish to come over like a hapless Mr Bean, but he clearly has powers beyond even the average rock god. "If only the pantomime genie could magic up the greatest songwriter in Britain," he sighs, and lo and behold on walks Take That's Gary Barlow for a version of Back for Good, which generates such hysteria you fear for the building. The surreal cast is then joined by Peter Kay, hurling sweets, and no fewer than three Elvises, playing violins.

COLDPLAY gave fans not one, but two early Christmas pressies last night.

The lads surprised gig-goers by wheeling out GARY BARLOW and comedian PETER KAY.

For the first of a pair of festive shows CHRIS MARTIN and the gang took to the stage at the Royal Court Theatre in Liverpool.

A show in Newcastle follows tonight.

Take That's Gary Barlow and Peter Kay.
Catch ... Peter Kay

Barlow joined the Grammy-winners for a rendition of TAKE THAT track Back For Good, while the larger-than-life funnyman hurled sweets into the crowd.

Livepool FC captain STEVEN GERRARD watched the show as well.

Группа Coldplay удивила многих, совместно выступив с участником Take That Гари Барлоу (Gary Barlow). Take That "Back For Good",

The Killers.

As long as you turn in at 7pm, your wish is granted. Pouff!

That's not your bedtime? Party animal!

Then you could always Sky+ Gary Barlow reading David McKee's Elmer And Papa Red on Christmas Eve to viewers of littl'un's channel CBeebies.

We're presuming the book's about two pages long. Any more and ol' tortoise-talker Gaz will be reading till midnight, bless him.

Still, it's a nice 'n' soporific voice: perfect for bedtime.

And if Gary Barlow doesn't float your boat, David Tennant and Emilia Fox will also be reading stories over the festive period.

Pillow talk from David Tennant. Now that's some quality children's programming we can get behind.

Gary Barlow’s son tells him that being friends with Robbie Williams is the best thing he’s ever done.

The Take That singer has revealed the reaction of his ten-year-old son following a recent visit to bandmate Robbie’s home in Los Angeles.

The two colleagues haven’t always seen eye to eye, famously falling out in the mid-90s as Robbie embarked on a solo career. They have since patched up their differences and are set along with fellow band members Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange to embark on a massive tour across Europe.

According to Gary, his eldest son Daniel is particularly glad that the pair are now reunited as it allows him to receive expensive gifts.

“I stay at his house when I go to LA. My eldest son loves him because he gave him a pair of David Beckham’s boots. He’s like, ‘Dad, knowing this guy is the best thing that’s ever happened to you,’ Gary explained.

The 39-year-old music star went on to explain that the dynamics within the group haven’t changed much despite them not being all together for over 10 years. Gary still sees himself as the bossy member of the quintet despite significant time elapsing.

“The big brother definitely and I guess I’m a bit of the boss as well. It’s funny because there’s so much of that still there. I kind of still lead the trail,” he said.

Take That star Gary Barlow marks a massive milestone on Thursday, January 20 - the singer/songwriter turns 40. Born in 1971 in Cheshire, north-west England, Barlow's big break in the music industry came in 1990 when he was introduced to manager Nigel Martin-Smith and landed a part in the line-up of boy band Take That.

Along with bandmates Robbie Williams, Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange, he went on to dominate the charts in the U.K. during the early 1990s, before Williams left in 1995 and the group split the following year. Barlow later topped the charts again as a solo artist and, after a break from the spotlight, he enjoyed fresh success when the band reunited as a four-piece - minus Williams - in 2006. Williams has since rejoined the line-up.

To say Happy Birthday to Gary, WENN has compiled 10 fascinating facts about the star:

* His interest in music began early on in life - when Barlow was just 10 years old. He received a keyboard for Christmas and spent the next few years teaching himself to play his favorite songs.
* Barlow's track "Pray" was Take That's first number one single in 1993. They've since had 11 more songs top the chart in Britain.
* He sang backing vocals on Elton John's "Lion King" hit "Can You Feel the Love Tonight".
* After Take That split in 1996, Barlow embarked on a short solo career and also wrote tracks for other artists, including Dame Shirley Bassey and Charlotte Church.
* The singer has Take That to thank for his family - he met wife Dawn on the group's 1995 Nobody Else Tour. The couple now has three children.
* He shares his birthday with director David Lynch, astronaut Buzz Aldrin and fellow British singer Will Young.
* Barlow was the Director of Music for British TV show Britannia High, which ran in 2008. However, it was dropped after just one season due to poor ratings.
* He organized a trek up Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa to benefit British organization Comic Relief in 2009, roping in celebrity pals including Ronan Keating and Cheryl Cole.
* The singer was once named the greatest British songwriter of all time, beating The Beatles legend John Lennon.
* Barlow is celebrating his birthday with a charity show - his first solo gig in 11 years. It takes place on Thursday night in London.

Gary Barlow can't wait to go on holiday without his kids.

The Take That frontman - who has children Daniel, 10, Emily, eight, and two-year-old Daisy with wife Dawn - is planning a romantic break with his spouse, though he claims he is worried about how well they will get along without the rest of their family.

He said: "The kids keep us pretty busy, although in about a week's time, we're going off on holiday, me and the wife with no kids, for the first time in about 11 years. I'm making a list of things we can talk about!

"I'm really looking forward to it, I'm taking my keyboard with me, and my laptop. No I'm not really."

Though the 'Flood' singer - who turns 40 today (20.01.11) - claims to struggle for conversation around his wife, he won't be finding other ways to occupy their time together after admitting he finds it "insulting" when people use their mobile phones in his company.

He told BBC Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans: "I get really insulted when people bring their phones to the dinner table and send texts, am I not important enough for you? It really annoys me. "

CONGRATULATIONS to GARY BARLOW, who's celebrating the big 4-0 today.

But instead of putting his feet up and reflecting on his success, the Cheshire-born TAKE THAT singer is orchestrating final details for his star-studded party in London tonight.

Over two decades in the limelight have produced many highs and also many lows.

Have a look at Gary's life in pictures below.

The Back For Good star is widely known as one of the UK's finest songwriters, performers and charitable stars.

His transformation from boy-next-door to megastar began in 1990 when he became one fifth of boyband Take That.

The band - Gary, ROBBIE WILLIAMS, HOWARD DONALD, JASON ORANGE and MARK OWEN - have enjoyed astonishing success over the past 20 years, scoring 16 top five hits, 11 No1 singles, seven No1 albums as well as multiple BRIT Awards.

But all the fame and fortune hasn't been without its set-backs (and dogy hair-cuts).

Gary and Robbie didn't always see eye-to-eye, prompting an unhappy Williams to quit the band in 1995.

The four remaining members continued as a four-piece but split up a year later.

In 2005 the group - minus Robbie - reunited to film a documentary and release a Greatest Hits album.

The overwhelming reaction proved the band were still a force to be reckoned with and prompted Gary, Mark, Jason and Howard to later announce a comeback tour called The Ultimate Tour.

They then announced plans to record new material for the first time in 10 years.

Beautiful World, the band's fourth album, was released in 2006, followed by The Circus in 2008.

The following year it appeared Gary and Robbie were working through their difficulties as they were spotted at a football match together and again at a recording studio in New York.

Rob rejoined the band last July and the group's sixth album, Progress, followed in November.

It featured the first new material from Take That's original line-up since their 1995 album Nobody Else.

Gary is a five-time recipient of the Ivor Novello Award and has been voted the greatest British songwriter of all time - responsible for huge hits such as Pray, A Million Love Songs and It Only Takes A Minute.

In 2000, Gazza married his stunning sweetheart DAWN, who was a dancer on their 1995 Nobody Else Tour.

They have three children, DANIEL (born 2000), EMILY (born 2002) and DAISY (born 2009).

In other words, he's achieved more in 40 years than most do in a lifetime.

Here’s an ego boosting birthday present for Gary Barlow – he’s topped a poll of pop stars who get better looking with age.

The Take That star – who celebrates turning 40 today – came out on top of the poll on singers who users of viagogo think are FWA. That stands for Fitter With Age - apparently we should should pronounce it like 'phwoar'. We wonder if it will catch on like MILF?

Gary wasn’t the only Take That member to make the list, bandmade Jason Orange came in second place - the countdown contains other former boyband members as well as wrinkly rockers. So who made the top 10? We’ll tell you...

1. Gary Barlow
2. Jason Orange
3. Tom Fletcher
4. Peter Andre
5. Jon Bon Jovi
6. Justin Timberlake
7. Ronan Keating
8. Caleb Followill
9. Bryan Ferry
10. Sting

Gary Barlow was serenaded by a crowd wearing masks of his own face during his "emotional" 40th birthday concert last night (20.01.11).

The star was joined onstage by Coldplay singer Chris Martin, as well as his Take That co-stars Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald during the charity show, to celebrate turning the landmark age, in London.

His bandmates took to the stage and sung 'Happy Birthday', then made Gary close his eyes while the 2,000 strong crowd put the masks on sung along with them to the band's hit 'Shine'.

Jason quipped: "I've always known what it's like to be a bandmate. But now I'm a fan, mate! I've been watching up there and mate you're really good! Someone should sign him up."

Gary also received birthday video messages from Elton John and Robbie Williams - who recently rejoined Take That to record last album 'The Flood' and will tour with them this summer, but had commitments in Los Angeles preventing him from being in London.

He said: "I'm really looking forward to seeing you, I miss you."

He then added, jokingly: "And just want to put your mind at ease about the tour - I know you're worried about my mental health. Well, I'm on meds, everything is fine, everything will be really cool. Love you loads."

The show saw Gary sing hits from across his career with Take That as well as a solo artist, including 'Greatest Day', 'Like I Never Loved You At All', 'Sunday to Saturday' and 'Wondering', and he admitted preparing the show had been an emotional rollercoaster.

Introducing a track dedicated to his parents, he said: "I tell you what, rehearsing for this gig has been quite emotional.

"Singing some of these songs which I haven't even heard for years and years. There was one song, it took me about two weeks to get to the end of it. 'Nobody Else'. I wrote it for my mum and dad."

After introducing Chris as "front-man of my favourite band" and singing a version of 'Back For Good' Gary said: "Chris, God bless you mate. God bless him. He's so shy. Thank you mate that was absolutely awesome."
