Leona Lewis blew me away on Friday night performing the final London show of her UK Labyrinth tour at O2.

Her voice has never been better and she finally looks like the world class superstar Simon Cowell always insisted she'd be.

I was sat directly behind Take That's Jason Orange, who is sporting a full-on beard, Brad Pitt-style. When Leona covered Take That song Could it be Magic he turned to his friends and said: "That was the best tune of the night, I've forgot my moves to that one now so I couldn't join in!" Both Jase and my old mucker James Blunt gave Leona a string of standing ovations.

Wythenshawe residents are being given chance to parade their skills and talents in a special variety show with the launch of Parkway Green Housing Trust and Willow Park Housing Trust’s Wythenshawe’s Got Talent 2010 event.

Lending his support to the event is Take That star Jason Orange. Having been raised in Wythenshawe and having first-hand experience of how talent can be discovered to kick-start a successful entertainment career, Jason is now encouraging residents of all ages in the area to register and get involved.

Jason Orange said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for people from my home town to showcase their talents and perhaps go on and have careers in the entertainment business.

“Knowing Wythenshawe and the people who live there, I’m sure it will be a great event and I’d encourage everyone to get involved and most importantly, really enjoy it!”

Now in its third year, the variety show is open to people of all ages who live or work in areas with M22 or M23 postcodes and aims to build on last year’s success when over 1,000 people took part.

Wythenshawe’s Got Talent has played an important role in bringing the Wythenshawe community together and giving residents an opportunity to showcase their abilities.

Take That star Jason Orange is backing a talent contest to find the next big superstar on the estate where he grew up.

He is supporting Wythenshawe’s Got Talent – a competition giving people in the area the chance to show off their skills in a variety show.

The pop icon attended Haveley Hey Primary School and the now-closed South Manchester High in Wythenshawe and remains proud of his background.

Now he is encouraging people in the south Manchester district to reach for the stars.

The singer spared no expense by taking over a whole hotel from 4pm to midday today in home city Manchester.

Bandmate HOWARD DONALD, 42, arrived at around 6pm carrying a spare set of clothes - and the rest of the lads were due to arrive later. Details of the do for Jason and his twin Justin were kept hush-hush, with invites sent out only days before.

Last night a source close to the star said: "Jason and Justin are up for a mad one.

"Everybody's wondering whether there will be 40 or 80 candles!

"Jason's pulled out all the stops to make this a night he'll never forget.

"The roof terrace is covered with a huge marquee and twinkly lights, and he's got all sorts of surprises up his sleeve.

"The food alone is something else - he's ordered curries galore, fish and chips and even a huge hog roast." A sign outside the Great John Street hotel yesterday said: "Exclusively booked until 12pm tomorrow. We apologise for any inconvenience."

Jason Orange celebrated his 40th birthday with a curry feast on a hotel rooftop.

The Take That star tucked into several spicy dishes at a lavish joint party with his twin brother Justin.

The duo booked out an entire hotel in their hometown Manchester from 4pm yesterday (25.07.10) until midday today (26.07.10) for family and friends.

Jason only sent out invitations a few days ago to keep the bash secret. His bandmate Howard Donald arrived at the hotel last night at 6pm with an overnight bag and the rest of the band are said to have turned up at the Great John Street hotel later last night.

As well as curries, millionaire Jason also served up fish and chips and a hog roast in a lavish marquee decorated with fairy lights erected on the hotel's roof terrace.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Jason pulled out all the stops to make this a night he'll never forget.

Unlucky in love Karen, 37, hopes Therapy Rocks, which premieres at next month’s New York Musical Theatre Festival, will put her name up in lights on Broadway.

Alex Jones wants to cosy up to Jason Orange on 'The One Show' sofa.

The Welsh beauty - who is currently single and co-presents the BBC One programme with Jason Manford - says Take That would be her ideal guests to interview and admits she would take the opportunity to get to know Jason a bit better as he's always been her favourite.

When asked who her perfect guests would be, Alex exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Definitely Take That I love them. But I'd want them to come on as a five-piece with Robbie Williams as that means there would only be room on the other sofa for four of them and Jason would have to sit next to me - what a shame!

"I've always loved him, he just seems so sweet and nice. Yeah, so the other boys can sit on the opposite sofa and Jason can sit right next to me!"
