Gary Barlow has compared Prince Harry to Robbie Williams, saying he is the "star of the royal family".
Speaking to The Sun, the Take That songwriter explained that spending time with Harry had reminded him of the boy band's glory days.
He said: "It was like the first incarnation of Take That. They were running down the streets after his car - they weren't interested in me, not a soul was interested in me.
"Harry is the star of the royal family, he is the Robbie of the royal family."
And in a different interview Gary explained how he had roped Hazza in to play on the official Diamond Jubilee single he has written with Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.
He told Magic FM: "I said, 'So you know I'm going to see you tonight? I'm going to bring a tambourine with me. I hope you're up for it?' And he said, 'It's going to cost you!'
"So I turned up with this little tambourine in my pocket, got him to play it and spun him into the track. I think it's wonderful."

| The song written by Gary Barlow for the diamond jubilee gave the Queen a "fun" break from the demands of being monarch, he said.
The Take That front man visited Windsor Castle with co-writer Andrew Lloyd Webber and Gareth Malone to play the the track, entitled Sing, to the monarch. Click here to see a video of the song
At last night's premiere of the accompanying TV documentary of the making of the song, Barlow said: "I think she was really excited. If you think of her day, I think it was a little bit of fun for 15 minutes, to be honest. I felt like it was a break for her more than anything else."
Asked by Barlow if she enjoyed it after hearing it played for her at Windsor Castle, the Queen replied: "Very much so."Gary Barlow
The documentary Gary Barlow: On Her Majesty's Service will be screened on BBC1 over the diamond jubilee bank holiday weekend at the start of June.
The song, which is raising money for the Queen's jubilee charities, will be performed live at the Buckingham Palace concert on June 4. Barlow refused to reveal whether Prince Harry will reprise his contribution - of banging a tambourine - live on stage.
He travelled Commonwealth countries including Jamaica, Australia, Kenya and the Solomon Islands to gather voices and sounds for the record and said tribal rhythms would influence the next Take That record - akin to the sounds featured on Paul Simon's classic Graceland album, which drew on South African native beats.
Barlow said: "I'm already thinking of the next Take That record, with flavours of this music in it."
Barlow was initially reluctant to write the song as he was in the middle of 18 months of organising the diamond jubilee concert, which features Paul McCartney, Kylie and Stevie Wonder.
"I kept batting it away, saying I have got enough to do," he said. "It's like nothing I have ever been a part of before."
Some of the musicians, including African "Slum Drummers" who perform on items salvaged from rubbish tips, will perform live for the Queen alongside the Military Wives Choir.
He added: "I have made hundreds of records but I have never done anything like this before. It was an exercise in trying to find the best in people. I wouldn't do it again, like, but I really enjoyed it."

The Take That singer and X Factor judge was collecting musical inspiration for the official Diamond Jubilee song when he was ambushed by a mob of men armed with bows and arrows and spears.
After travelling by canoe for six hours to the remote Pacific isle of Malaita, he was completely taken by surprise when he was surrounded by members of the clan wearing necklaces decorated with TEETH.
He told TV Biz how he was scared for his life and worried he would become the victim of cannibalism.
Gary said: “We were all white men and there were only eight of us.
“I really did think, ‘They’ve taken us all this way up the river and they could kill us and eat us alive and no one would know’.”
Gary was in the far-flung spot while filming a BBC documentary about his journey to find musical talent across the Commonwealth to contribute to the track, called Sing.
Starting out at Treetops Safari Lodge in Kenya — where the Queen learned that her father had died and she was to succeed to the British throne — Gary discovered the musical delights of the African Children’s Choir, a Masai tribe and Rastafarian drummers.
Others acts included the Slum Drummers from Nairobi — their instruments are made out of rubbish — a blind Aboriginal and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
Released later this month, Sing is expected to be the first chart single to feature a member of the Royal Family — Prince Harry playing the tambourine after some tutoring from Gary.
Some of the stars of the track will be flown into the UK for the BBC’s Jubilee concert at Buckingham Palace and will meet the Royal family and top stars.
Gary said: “We came back and obviously I am putting all the concert together and my first words were that we have to fly some of these people back.
“For instance, the Slum Drummers and the children’s choir are flying over. They have never been on a plane before and are going to meet the Queen, Elton John and Sir Paul McCartney.
“It’s going to be incredible — and within that lies another message in that we have changed some people’s lives, which is gorgeous.”
Gary, who will become a father for the fourth time later this year, was taught a valuable fatherhood tool by the Royal Solomon Police Force Band.
A member of the marching band — who play at all their country’s state events — instructed Gary on how to rock a baby to sleep.
After trying out the moves, Gary said: “Now that bit I do like, I love children that go to sleep, it’s the best part of the day. I will be taking that routine home with me. Oh, my wife is going to love this.”
The team put the finishing touches to the record in London’s Abbey Road Studios with Gareth Malone’s Military Wives choir.
Gary — who while in Sydney started working on material for the next Take That album — revealed he “falls in and out of love with music” but his adventure made him “determined to find that spot again”.
He said: “The thing I really love to see is how much the people we have met and recorded love music.
“I was there when I started, that’s why I played an instrument and why I used to get up and sing, because I loved it, I absolutely loved it.
“I fall in and out of love with music. I exist in a business, I am signed to a major record company, there is money they build into their profits because of what I do for them. And so I need to remind myself that I need to play music and just enjoy it.”
He added: “First and foremost I was a musician when I started. My one passion was playing the piano. And I look back now, the day I started singing, I kind of lost it. I lost the musician in me somewhere.
“Being part of this has given what I do a little more validity and it makes me feel like we have done something really good here.
“And it is something I will remember in my career forever.”
He also insisted that his X Factor Mr Nasty persona with his cruel comments are here to stay.
Gary, who took over the mantle from Simon Cowell last year, revealed the King of Mean and his critical comments will continue to weed out those not up to scratch.
He said: “I never said anything about not being nasty. I said I’m going to enjoy it more this year. You always have got to be honest.”
Gary admitted that out of the band’s new dads, he will be intrigued to see how Robbie Williams copes. He said: “We are most interested in Robbie’s birth. I would love a 24-hour surveillance on how that is going to work.
“I have found the right girl as my wife takes up all the slack all the time I am travelling and busy.”
The star said revealing the final product to the Queen was a “nice break” for her from meeting dignitaries — and she is thought to be “delighted” with the song.

The Take That hitmaker wrote the track to celebrate Britain's Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee with Andrew Lloyd Webber, and although he had initially thought they would write an instrumental, changed his mind to reflect the pop music he has built his career on.
He told BANG showbiz: ''Initially I thought it was going to be an instrumental piece of music. And then I thought, 'Well, that just doesn't represent me, I write pop songs that have melody and lyrics.'
''So when I hooked up with Andrew I was hopeful it would be half decent. I think if you were to say our two names and play that song I don't think you'd expect that to come from it.''
He also said the collaboration came together quite naturally with himself and Andrew both writing different sections.
Gary added: ''It was one of those situations where I actually brought the chorus with me and Andrew had the verse and we just weaved the two into one.
''We spent a day doing that and then just emailed and emailed about the story of the song and what it should say.''
Gary worked with a number of musicians from across the Commonwealth of Nations - which includes Australia, South Africa, and India, among many others - as well as the Military Wives choir on the track, which even features the Queen's grandson, Prince Harry, on tambourine.
'Sing' is released on May 28.

Gary Barlow admits his new documentary 'On Her Majesty's Service' was an "exercise in YouTube".
The Take That star goes on a tour of the Commonwealth in a bid to create a song for Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee in the show, and he admits there was a limit to how much they could film and found the online video sharing website a useful tool to edit what they needed to see and what they didn't.
He told BANG Showbiz: "It was actually an exercise for YouTube to be honest. We had a limit of about four or five days in each country. It wasn't a cheap do to take all the crews abroad, that's for sure. We tried to make sure we had at least two items we had from each country, stuff we found on YouTube, things we knew would look good on TV but also applied to the song itself.
"Sometimes we didn't know what we were going to get when we landed and often we landed and discovered better stuff. It wasn't that planned a lot of it."
Gary visits countries including Australia and Kenya on the tour to create the single 'Sing' and admits he discovered a whole new side to himself while he did so.
He added: "I've made hundreds of records but I've never done anything like this before. I found it really motivating and incredibly different, it brings out a new side of you."
