Хмм! Противоречивые чувства от этой статьи! И правда какие то ДЖИЭЛЭС будут а Куинов не будет? Нет Гари - это совсем плохо dry
One of the enduring images of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee was Brian May performing the National Anthem on the roof of Buckingham Palace at the “Party at the Palace” pop concert.

But Gary Barlow, the Take That singer who is organising the concert for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, has not chosen to avail himself of May’s services, and, has, perhaps, rubbed salt into the wound by saying that only “world-class artists” would be performing.

“No, we haven’t been asked at all which is a shame — maybe next time we will, perhaps the one after diamond, whatever that is,” May, 64, tells me at the Whatsonstage.com awards concert at the Prince of Wales Theatre.

“I don’t how they’re going to top the Golden Jubilee event we were involved with, but that’s Gary Barlow’s problem. They’ll have to drop him from a helicopter or something.”

The boyband JLS and the singer Jessie J have already been assured of spots at the event in June.

The song will be performed at the Diamond Jubilee weekend concert outside Buckingham Palace on 4 June, which will be attended by Her Majesty and other members of the Royal Family.

In preparation, Barlow will embark on a journey around the world to discover what The Queen means to the people of the Commonwealth. The trip will feature in an hour-long documentary to be screened by BBC One.

Barlow and Lloyd Webber will also aim to incorporate different musical traditions into the song which will feature artists and contributors from the UK and Commonwealth. They could include international names and unknowns from remote villages.

Barlow's journey will see him travel to the Caribbean, Africa, the Pacific Islands and Australasia.

He said: "This is probably the biggest challenge I've ever taken on musically. I'm so excited and thrilled to be a part of it."

And Lloyd Webber said: "It is a huge honour to be involved in this historic occasion and I am looking forward very much to working with Gary."

Gary Barlow has asked Prince Harry to perform on the special Diamond Jubilee song he is co-writing with Andrew Lloyd Webber in honour of the Queen.

The Take That star has begun a trip across the Commonwealth collecting performances from musicians for the official track that will be featured in the summer musical extravaganza marking the Queen's 60-year reign.

Music legend Stevie Wonder is among the all-star list of artists performing on the night. Also included in the line-up is Sir Paul McCartney, JLS, Sir Elton John and Kylie Minogue.

The singer and the Prince met when the two men visited an NGO providing educational and life skills training to children and young people in a deprived part of the Jamaican capital of Kingston.

Barlow tried to entice the prince to perform on the song when they met in a room showcasing the work of young Jamaican entrepreneurs, asking Harry: "I've started the Diamond Jubilee song and we're hoping to get you on a track."

When the prince replied: "I can't sing," Barlow persevered and said "tambourine?" then added "just one hit?"

The conversation quickly turned to the Prince's Diamond Jubilee tour which has already taken him to Belize and the Bahamas and Harry told the singer: "It's been a fantastic week."

After the prince left Barlow remained upbeat about royal involvement in his project saying: "I'm sure we'll get him, he'll do it for the cause."

Tim Minchin was originally asked to co-write a track for Britain’s Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

The musical comedian – who wrote the West End musical ‘Matilda’ – explained he was approached by Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber about the possibility of penning a track to commemorate the monarch’s 60 years on the throne.

However, he was eventually rejected in favour of Take That frontman Gary Barlow.

He said: “Well Lloyd Webber was talking to me about co-writing a song for the Jubilee, the 60th anniversary.

“Well he was going, ‘Oh we should do it’, and Andrew’s brilliant by the way and I’m a huge fan, like ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ changed my life, so did ‘Starlight Express’.

“But now he’s writing it with that guy who judges talent shows now, he used to be in that wicked band… Robbie Williams … Gary Barlow. Gary?”

The 36-year-old star joked that while he wanted to call Lord Lloyd Webber and “cry down the phone” after finding out he had been rejected, he admits penning a track for the royal wouldn’t have been quite his “scene” anyway.

Speaking to Absolute Radio, Tim added: “He’s doing it with Gary, I found out. But I’m going to have to ring him up and cry down the phone.

“We were just gossiping about the idea, but it wouldn’t be quite my scene anyway.”

X-Factor judge and member of the incredibly popular group Take That, Gary Barlow, is in Kenya in search of inspiration for his upcoming collaboration with Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber in celebration of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee.

Only here for the week, the singer-songwriter and record producer, is visiting Kenya and other Commonwealth countries to find out what the Queen means to ordinary people. Barlow's journey will also be the subject of an hour-long documentary to be shown on BBC One.

Elizabeth II became Queen when George VI died on 6 February 1952 while her and husband Philip were in Kenya. As a result, Kenyans definitely have a special place in Royal history, and the Queen's affinity for the country will definitely inspire the new song.

The song will be performed outside Buckingham Palace on 4 June 2012 at the Diamond Jubilee Concert, in the presence of the Royal Family and millions of spectators.

He is an impressive polo player and has several years of military experience under his belt.

And now Prince Harry can add pop star to his list of accolades as it has been revealed his will be performing on the Jubilee Song along with Gary Barlow.

But fans of the dashing young prince hoping to hear him sing will be left disappointed - he will only be playing the tambourine.

Gary Barlow has revealed that Prince Charles was the brains behind his globe-trotting Jubilee single.

Take That star Barlow had been planning to put the track together in the UK but the Prince of Wales advised him the Queen would appreciate a track drawn from across the Commonwealth.

Music makers: Prince Harry will be performing on the Jubilee song with Garry Barlow but all he will be doing is playing the tambourine

Charles's idea led Barlow to travel to Australia, Kenya, Jamaica and the Solomon Islands in search of guest musicians, singers and inspiration.

It also led to him having to clear a bigger budget with the BBC, which was making a documentary about the recording process for the Jubilee track, called Sing.

Barlow visited Prince Charles while he was preparing to record the song. 'He was the first guy I saw and his bit was actually key,' the singer said. 'I had a list of questions I wanted to ask him - what does the Queen like, what does she listen to? And he came into the room with six CDs. We were like "Okay, what's this?".'

'He said "Well, I've brought some of my music collection cos you need to understand that because we travel so much, we get to hear so much music - it's not what you'd think". So I was shocked. I was like "Have you ever even talked about music on camera before?" and he said "No-one's ever asked me about music".'

'It was a really eclectic bunch, from Cole Porter to people you've never heard of - from Africa, folk bands, mento bands from Jamaica, and I was intrigued by it cos it was music from the Commonwealth. So in my chat with him he said 'If you really want the Queen to like this, find people; go and travel and find people'. And it was at that point I had to go back to the BBC and say 'We need a bit more money because we've got to get on a plane a few times and go off round the world'.
Friends in high places: Gary has also revealed that The Queen was worried about the concert keeping her up as he spoke to Graham Norton in an interview due to air tonight

Friends in high places: Gary has also revealed that The Queen was worried about the concert keeping her up as he spoke to Graham Norton in an interview due to air tonight

The music was written with composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, although the lyrics came later as Barlow was travelling.

The song - which features well-known musicians such as reggae duo Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare, and ska guitarist Ernest Ranglin - changed continually while he was en route recording sounds. The track also features The Military Wives.

The journey will feature in a BBC1 documentary Gary Barlow: On Her Majesty's Service to be screened in the coming weeks.

Gary has also revealed how the Queen was concerned she will not be able to sleep due to all the noise following the concert.

The Take That star revealed how Her Majesty raised her concerns on the Graham Norton show which airs tonight.

Gary said: 'The Queen is absolutely delighted with the whole line up.'

‘Only a couple of weeks ago I got the job of presenting the whole plan of the concert to her and I’d learnt everything about the gig, there’s not a question she can throw at me that I’m going to falter on.
Queen's concerns: Gary said that the monarch was worried about where she would be sitting at the concert

Queen's concerns: Gary said that the monarch was worried about where she would be sitting at the concert

‘I went 'Your Majesty, this is what the concert is going to look like, it's going to be incredible, this is where it's going to be in front of the palace'.

‘And she said, "So all that equipment, how long is that going to take to dismantle?"At this point I’m guessing, so I say "about six or seven hours," and she said, "so, the concert finishes at half ten at night, which means you will be doing that all night at the front of the palace where my family lives."'

'A little bead of sweat ran down and I was like, "So, moving on Your Majesty this is the Royal box, this is where you'll be sitting"'.

‘She said "How am I going to get there?".

‘It was something else I didn't know the answer to.

‘She is incredible for her age, very. very smart. She's excited about the whole weekend, she really is.’

Asked how the Queen will get to the Royal Box from the Palace, he replied: ‘I'm in charge of what goes on stage, I'm not in charge of that. It'll probably be a golf buggy, a nice one, the best golf buggy you can get.’

Gary is also on speaking terms with Her Majesty after performing a special rendition of Happy Birthday alongside Lord Lloyd webber for her last month.

The Queen was celebrating her 86th birthday with a trip to Newbury races when Lord Lloyd-Webber and his wife Madeleine invited her to a drinks reception at their country mansion in Sydmonton.

A source told the Mail said: 'Andrew and Madeleine thought it would be nice to go back to their house for some refreshments.'

'Gary came along as well and Andrew suggested they sing Happy Birthday to Her Majesty. It really was a very jolly affair

Meanwhile, Mr Barlow will be at the auditions for the X Factor in Liverpool on Wednesday after signing up for his second series.

But he admitted that he plans to lighten up on this year’s show, saying: ‘If there is one note to self for me, I want to enjoy it more this time, especially the audition side of it.

‘I always thought of myself as the serious music guy but actually 98 per cent of the acts are absolutely awful and incredibly funny, so I want to enjoy them this time round.

‘The bit everyone seems to miss is how close you get to these people when you work with them every day and spend time with them, you want them to do well.’

He will join Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos again on the judging panel and show bosses are in negotiations with Dannii Minogue to return – with a decision expecting from the singer today.

And he came into the room with six CDs. We were like ‘Okay, what’s this?’.

He said ‘Well, I’ve brought some of my music collection cos you need to understand that because we travel so much, we get to hear so much music – it’s not what you’d think’. So I was shocked. I was like ‘Have you ever even talked about music on camera before?’ and he said ‘No-one’s ever asked me about music’.

“It was a really eclectic bunch, from Cole Porter to people you’ve never heard of – from Africa, folk bands, mento bands from Jamaica, and I was intrigued by it cos it was music from the Commonwealth. So in my chat with him he said ‘If you really want the Queen to like this, find people; go and travel and find people’. And it was at that point I had to go back to the BBC and say ‘We need a bit more money because we’ve got to get on a plane a few times and go off round the world’.

The music was written with composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, although the lyrics came later as Barlow was travelling.

The song – which features well-known musicians such as reggae duo Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare, and ska guitarist Ernest Ranglin – changed continually while he was en route recording sounds. The track also features The Military Wives and Prince Harry on tambourine.

The journey will feature in a BBC1 documentary Gary Barlow: On Her Majesty’s Service to be screened in the coming weeks.

The X Factor judge has spent months organising the 60th anniversary spectacular.

It will feature stars including Elton John, Kylie Minogue and Stevie Wonder performing on a specially constructed stage at the front of Buckingham Palace.

Gary told how he went to the palace to brief Her Majesty on the concert — which will be shown live on BBC1 next month — but that her most pressing concern was how long it would take to dismantle the stage.

The Take That singer said: “Only a couple of weeks ago I got the job of presenting the plan of the concert to her.

“I learned everything about this gig, I know every act that’s on, I even know every band member in Madness. There’s not a question she can throw at me where I am going to falter.

“I went, ‘Your Majesty, this is what the concert is going to look like, it’s going to be incredible, this is where it’s going to be, in front of the palace’. She looked at me and went, ‘So, all that equipment, how long is it going to take to dismantle it?’

“At this point I’m guessing and I say, ‘Oh about six or seven hours’ so she went, ‘The concert’s going to finish at half ten at night which means you’ll be doing that all night while my family live at the front of the palace’.

“A little bead of sweat ran down and I was like, ‘So, moving on Your Majesty — this is the royal box, this is where you’ll be sitting’.

“She said, ‘How am I going to get there?’. It was something else I didn’t know the answer to.

“She is incredible for her age — very, very smart. She’s excited about the whole weekend, she really is.”

Speaking on tonight’s Graham Norton Show on BBC1, cheeky Gary speculated how the Queen would travel from the palace to the concert.

He said: “It’ll probably be a golf buggy, a nice one, the best golf buggy you can get.”

Gary also revealed how he couldn’t wait to return to The X Factor.

But he said he was sick of being the nasty judge — and would instead be Mr Nice Guy.

He said: “I’m a very serious person but I want to enjoy it a bit more this time around, especially the auditions side of it.

“I was always like, ‘I’m the serious music guy’ but actually 98 per cent of the acts are absolutely awful, so I want to enjoy them this time around.” The X Factor yesterday officially confirmed Dermot O’Leary would be fronting the new series — months after he started working on it.

Simon Cowell said: “Dermot has done a brilliant job for the past five years — he is Mr X Factor!”

Meanwhile, Prince Harry has made his recording debut after being recruited by Gary Barlow to play on his Jubilee single.

The Prince, a keen music fan, agreed while in Jamaica to bash a tambourine which the Take That star recorded to use in the song.

The track, called Sing, was written by Barlow and composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and also features the chart-topping Military Wives. When it is released later this month it is expected to be the first chart single to feature a specially recorded member of the royals.

The Prince features alongside a number of notable names including celebrated reggae rhythm section Sly & Robbie, plus guitarist Ernest Ranglin, famed for playing on the Dr No soundtrack as well as on timeless Sixties hit My Boy Lollipop.

Barlow, who took his laptop around the world to record various artists, said he had become fond of Harry after meeting him a few times. He said: “He’s fun and relaxed and he’s a really nice kid.”

But asked if the prince exhibited any musical talent, Barlow said simply: “No.”

He added: “He’s a great guy Harry — a lot of people I met in Australia, he was their favourite. They loved him, especially the older women. I think he’s one of the Queen’s favourites as well.” Barlow revealed that Prince Charles was the brains behind his globe-trotting Jubilee single.

He had been planning to put it together in the UK but the Prince of Wales advised him that the Queen would appreciate a single drawn from across the Commonwealth.

Charles’s idea led Barlow to travel to Australia, Kenya, Jamaica and the Solomon Islands in search of guest musicians, singers and inspiration.

The journey will feature in a BBC1 documentary Gary Barlow: On Her Majesty’s Service, to be screened in the coming weeks.

Gary said of the project: “It was one of the best things I have ever done, like nothing else I’ve ever tried before.”

The song Gary Barlow and Andrew Lloyd Webber have co-created for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations has had its first airing on BBC Radio 2.

Sing features musicians from across the Commonwealth, the Military Wives choir - and Prince Harry on tambourine.

The Prince made his contribution - his recording debut - in Jamaica, one of four Commonwealth countries that Barlow visited while compiling the song.

Sing had its first play on Chris Evans' Breakfast Show on Friday.

The video for the track, credited to Gary Barlow and The Commonwealth Band, will be fully unveiled on The One Show on BBC One on Friday evening.

Asked if Prince Harry had exhibited any musical talent, Barlow said simply: "No."

"He did the tambourine hit and we spun it into the track," the Take That star explained. "He probably hasn't got a clue what he's part of just yet."

The inspiration for the song, the 41-year-old said, had partly come from Prince Charles.

"I was just going to do it in London with the Philharmonic Orchestra," he told the Press Association. "But once I'd met with him I realised we've got to go into the world.

"In my chat with him he said 'If you really want the Queen to like this, find people; go and travel and find people'."

The singer's travels - which also took him to Australia, Kenya and the Solomon Islands - will be charted in BBC One documentary Gary Barlow: On Her Majesty's Service.
Gary Barlow with Gareth Malone (l) and the Military Wives choir Choir master Gareth Malone (l) said the Military Wives felt "honoured" to be asked to participate

Musicians he met and recorded include ska guitarist Ernest Ranglin, reggae duo Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare and Jamaican group The Jolly Boys.

Sing, to be released by Decca Records on 28 May, will be performed live at the Diamond Jubilee Concert, in front of Buckingham Palace on 4 June.

It will also feature on a commemorative Jubilee album by Barlow, which includes appearances from Hayley Westenra, Laura Wright and Alfie Boe.

"It has been a great joy to collaborate with Gary on a song for this extraordinary occasion," said Lord Lloyd-Webber.

"I hope it will become a song that is sung in celebration for many years to come."
