The singer is now officially back in the group after quitting the chart-topping boyband back in 1995 - but insists cash is not a motivation.

Speaking about the guys getting back together in 2005 (without Robbie), the star told X: "If it was financial the boys are doing themselves a disservice. They've got to split things five ways."

Williams this week revealed that the reunion is long-term and not just for their upcoming album Progress and stadium tour next year.

"We've met on a level playing surface - the boys have come back and have done exceptionally well," the Shame singer explained. "People have had kids and you know, the edges for me have sort of rounded-off a little bit, and so have the boys.

"And it's the feel-good factor that makes me want to keep coming back for more - or back for good!"

Robbie Williams says Take That will get naked to beat JLS in the charts!

ROBBIE Williams has made us very happy ladies this morning, revealing that Take That will go naked to beat JLS in the charts.
As we bring you a special first look at pictures from Take That's new video The Flood, we can also tell you that Robbie Williams is determined to out-muscle JLS - even if it means nakedness!

The Rock DJ singer told the Daily Star that the boys might have to get their bums out - like they did for their first single Do What U Like back in 1992 - in order to steal the No 1 spot.

He said: "If all else fails, nakedness in Trafalgar Square.

"We might have to get our arses out again. It's going to be an interesting week.

"JLS are great. When my last album came out and I was No 2 and they were No 1, I gave them a bell and congratulated them. So if the reverse happens, they have my number now..."

Robbie's battle cry comes as we show you the very first picture from the lads' new video.

Robbie joins Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald in a locker room, kitted out in sexy white boating gear.

Robbie has teamed up with his old bandmates and plans to tour with them next year following the release of his own Greatest Hits album.

And he said: "If it wasn't for the boys, I would probably be doing nothing because I quite enjoy that now. It does feel like the end of a last chapter in the book and I feel a bit spent.

"I'm loving what's to come and I'm very excited being back with the boys.

"Our album sounds amazing and I'm excited to do the tour. But I'm kind of still at a loose end figuring out what I want to do when I grow up."

Robbie, who compares his career to that of Cher, has been put off by the criticism of some of his more recent work, including for albums Rudebox and Reality Killed The Video Star.

He confessed: "There are now a lot more avenues for people to be negative. And I don't know whether to stay on the merry-go-round to wait for it to come back to how it was before or just pop off and go home.

"There's no real burning drive or ambition. I'll probably be a leap year artist from now on."

On the lukewarm reaction to Reality Killed The Video Star, Robbie added: "I was kind of going through the motions, as I was all hyped up about doing Rudebox and going down that road, and everybody went, 'No'.

"But I didn't want to do another Come Undone, or another Angels.

"You do find yourself sort of in the boggy marsh of then thinking 'Well, I don't quite fancy doing that any more'. And because everyone had said 'No', I went, 'Well, OK , I can't be a***d either'.

"I found myself capitulating. Knowing that my audience didn't like Rudebox left me thinking, 'Well, er, I don't know what to do now'."

Robbie also spoke fondly of his recent duet with Gary Barlow on Strictly Come Dancing.

But despite co-writing the song Shame with Gary, he admits he forgot his words during the recording of the telly show. He revealed: "There was just a lot of warmth from the audience. There was something special about it.

"I came off and felt good - like my old self again. It was cool.

"We did it twice. I'd forgotten the words the first time. I actually got 90 per cent of them right. But people just remember that 10 per cent, don't they."
