X Factor 2011 Spoilers: Lady Gaga vs Queen song choices revealed
Misha B took to Twitter yesterday, in a bid to deflect attention from the whole Frankie Cocozza scandal and announced that this week’s X Factor theme would be Lady Gaga vs Queen.
They are two acts that are hard to follow and we love the fact that producers have mixed up the potential for contestants to perform huge classic numbers, with insanely popular and current tracks on Saturday night’s show. In fact, this is probably our favourite theme so far.
Kitty Brucknell should excel at the weekend, considering the fact that she used to make a living as a Lady Gaga impersonator, but we’re hoping that Janet will be given a Queen track….and maybe a slow one at that or she might find herself struggling as she did when she took on the Jackson Five number last week.
There are a few rumours circulating about which songs the acts will each be singing, so we’ve compiled them below and this list will be added to as the week progresses.

It sounds like a right mess backstage at The X Factor this week, with both Janet Devlin and Craig Colton reportedly throwing diva stops before threatening to leave! With the competition heating up as the final weeks approach, it seems the pressure is getting to the contestants.
And many have been unhappy by a move that will see either Amelia Lily, Jonjo Kerr, 2 Shoes or James Michael return to the show tonight. One of the four contestants – who were eliminated in the first live show – will be voted back into the competition by the public to replace Frankie Cocozza.
Both Misha B and Marcus have thrown tantrums over the twist, but they don’t seem to be alone in being against the latest bid to boost ratings.
“Most contestants have been crying, others want to leave, it is absolute chaos backstage, the worst it’s ever been,” a source told the Daily Mirror.
The newspaper reports that Craig Colton packed his bags and was set to go home, until Gary Barlow persuaded him to stay for this weekend’s show.
The 23-year-old admitted: “I can’t hack it anymore.”
A source added: “Craig quit on Thursday. He said he was going home.
“He was really determined. He didn’t cry, he just wanted out. He didn’t want to be in the show any more. He was too drained and he was homesick.”
Janet meanwhile – who previously told us she wouldn’t compromise herself on the show – has been arguing with the show’s stylists and production crew.
“Janet isn’t happy about the songs she is being given, the clothes she has to wear and feels some people want to turn her into something she is not,” the source revealed. “She is adamant that she will not do what they say and is fighting her corner. But if they push her again about songs and clothes, she will not put up with it much longer.”
It’s all sure to make for an interesting show this evening…

| The X Factor judges were whipped up in Gaga hysteria on Sunday night's Xtra Factor, trying on a selection of her hats.
Tulisa Contostavlos re-lived Gaga's Telephone performances with a hat featuring the titular item, while Louis Walsh opted for a rather fetching fruit-based number.
Head judge Gary Barlow undoubtedly stole the show however, clutching an owl hat which he proceeded to stroke whilst looking stony-faced at his fellow hat-adorned judges.

Lady Gaga gave a typically bizarre performance earlier on in the night, singing Marry The Night from within a costume that made it appear as though she was carrying her own severed head.
One Direction also performed on the results show in a rather more straight forward performance, as Kitty Brucknell and Misha B found themselves in the X Factor bottom two.
Brucknell was eventually voted off by the judges, but not before giving her tribute to 'Mother Monster'; belting out a chorus of Born This Way.

| The ex-Oasis songwriter recently confirmed that he had been approached by Simon Cowell to fill the "alpha male" head judge role on the show.

Gallagher admitted that his daughter has not forgiven him for turning down the position after he told Cowell that "he didn't really want me on there".
Asked about the approach, Cowell's eventual replacement Barlow told The Big Issue: "I don't know about [Noel being a good judge]... It's a big commitment.
"If you're going to get involved with something like this you've got to be prepared to give a lot of time and effort to it… I can't see him doing it somehow."
Of suggestions by some, including Gallagher, that the 16-year-olds on the show are too young, Barlow countered: "It's a massive opportunity. I think you've got to want it this bad. In fact, my criticism is, some of them should want it more than they do.
"The pop world is a bit like fashion. It moves very quickly. What happens with some people is, they earn a bit of money and they think, 'I'm all right now, and I can't be arsed with all the hard work anymore'."
Regarding the media attention for The X Factor, Barlow said: "The press stuff is

just... actually quite funny. It's so wrong and so untrue it becomes funny. It's a bit of a circus, the whole thing.
"It's kind of part and parcel of the whole show so you learn to live with it. I don't read newspapers but you hear the whispers and you think, 'Jesus Christ, what is happening... what is happening here?' The truth is it's probably keeping a lot of the papers going."

| Gary Barlow has admitted that he would jump at the chance to judge on another series of The X Factor.
We had been worried that all the hype, speculation, scandal and pressure would put the Take That star off returning to the ITV show, however in a recent interview he has confessed that he will be back in 2012, if Simon Cowell will have him.
Gary has had a tumultuous journey, which peaked last week in the shock elimination of bad boy Frankie Cocozza, over his illegal drug taking and partying.
However, even that hasn’t put him off and asked if he’ll be back, Barlow said:
“I’d do it in a heartbeat, I would do it all again. I have loved every bit of it. I would miss it if I didn’t do it any more.”
Speaking to OK magazine, Gary has said that he is investing heavily in his acts, to make sure he is helping them grow and develop as artists and is not getting caught up boosting ratings with unpredictable and crazy performances.
Louis Walsh may opt for chariots, camp sets and scores of backing dancers, but Gary claimed that he takes a different approach to his job.
He told OK! magazine: “I honestly don’t care about the entertainment aspect – that’s Louis Walsh’s job. I never consider that at all. I just care about getting my acts on stage with a good song so they can showcase their vocals every week.”
The ‘Rule The World’ hitmaker isn’t sure how the other three panelists feel about returning, however he has revealed that despite the arguments, the fall outs and the bickering, they are all genuine friends off screen
Gary explained: “Having been part of this series, I love the other judges – they are brilliant. We have our fall-outs, but they are great for the acts.”

| JUST when you thought things couldn’t get any worse for X Factor, Gary Barlow has delivered another gut-wrenching body blow.
This year’s series has seen a cocaine scandal, race row, an electrical blackout on live TV plus, of course, the obligatory autotune rumpus.
And now, to add insult to injury, new judge Gary has dropped his biggest hint yet that he WON’T be coming back for next year’s series.
He said: “I’m taking some time off next year to remind myself who my children are and what their names are.”
Daniel, 11, Emily, nine, and Daisy, two, Gary, in case you really HAD forgotten...
“Next year doesn’t even feel like it’s approaching,” he added.
Could the Frankie Cocozza episode contribute to Gary Barlow quitting X Factor?
The Take That star was speaking at last night’s Children In Need Rocks Manchester gig, which he organised. “It’s been nice to concentrate on something other than X Factor,” he said. “We’re in a bubble down there. It’s been good to leave London. We get tied up with our own importance.”
The concert featured his new buddies Kelly Rowland and Tulisa, as well as Lady Gaga, Jessie J, JLS and Coldplay.
“I contacted everyone myself,” says Gary, 40. “I usually start with an email, then call them. It’s important to do that, rather than get a call from some researcher.”
However, Cheryl Cole was forced to pull out of a duet with Gary after she was struck down with pharyngitis.

Gary, who sung Back for Good on his lonesome, told me: “I didn’t want to replace her because it was going to be such a nice moment for her tonight. She’s gutted. Who knows, we might be able to do a duet another time.”
On next year’s X Factor maybe?

X Factor judge Gary Barlow has been blasted by fans for throwing his toys out of the pram on last night’s show, following his comments towards Amelia Lily in the sing off. The harsh judge had hit out at the singer’s vocals, saying she had “shouted her way” through the sing-off song.
Amelia was eventually saved by the public after the sing-off result went to deadlock, and it left many fans unhappy with the Take That star’s comments.
“In his own words ‘tactical critique’,” one fan wrote on an internet forum. Another added: “There was no need for that. Even Simon didn’t criticize at that stage of things. Kelly showed how it should be done by at least respecting both acts.”
One viewer even revealed that Gary’s comments had put them off his acts.
“I really liked Craig but I was hoping he’d go out after that nasty dig from Gary. He deserved to lose an act for being so needlessly nasty,” they wrote. “Gary Barlow showing how a 40 year old man can still act like a Playground child when things don’t go his way.”
We have to admit that Gary is becoming quite something on the X Factor panel as time goes on, and we’re not sure we like whatever it is!
