Soccer Aid is back for 2010 with two squads full of football legends and super celebrities joining the man himself, Robbie Williams, for the star-studded football match with all profits going to children's charity, UNICEF!

Robbie will be captaining the England team against the Rest Of The World XI for the biggest charity kickabout of the year as he hopes to make it a hat-trick of wins for the English side following triumphant victories in 2006 and 2008.

The match will be hosted by The X Factor presenter Dermot O'Leary and broadcast live on ITV1 from The Theatre Of Dreams, Manchester United's legendary stadium, Old Trafford, on Sunday, 6th June 2010.

The game will be held at Manchester United's Old Trafford ground on June 6 and shown live on ITV1.

Soccer Aid is back! The epic sporting event will be kicking off on Sunday 6th June at Manchester's legendary Old Trafford stadium and broadcast live on ITV1. Two star-studded squads of footballing legends and celebrities from England and the Rest of the World will take on one another in an electrifying football match all in aid of UNICEF, the world's leading children's organisation.

Announcing the match, UNICEF Ambassador Robbie Williams said: "I am so excited that Soccer Aid is back, and at Old Trafford once again. I have such amazing memories of my last game at Old Trafford. It will be a great time for football, with World Cup fever at boiling point, and there's never been a better time for us to show our support for UNICEF given the recent tragedies affecting children around the world. Money raised through profits from ticket sales and donations made by viewers during the match will go to UNICEF's invaluable work helping children around the world. This will be the third Soccer Aid event, with the previous matches, held at Old Trafford in 2006 and Wembley in 2008, raising almost £4 million in total for UNICEF's work.

UNICEF UK's Director of Communications, Victoria Rae said, "Soccer Aid 2010 will raise crucial money for UNICEF to help children around the world. Every minute of every day, children die from common diseases like measles, diarrhoea and malaria. Millions of children don't go to school, have food, shelter or clean water.

Children all over the world suffer from violence, abuse and discrimination, are forced to work in dangerous conditions and denied the chance to play. This is wrong and the money raised from Soccer Aid will help to put it right."

The pop foursome were due to host a bash for friends and family after what promises to be one of their biggest gigs ever.

However the Herald has learned the band will instead be hopping on a plane to Manchester to take part in Robbie Williams' World Cup Soccer Aid special the next day.

The boys will line out at Manchester United's Old Trafford alongside a number of celebrities on June 6 to take on a team of football heroes including Alan Shearer and Jamie Redknapp.

Robbie, who has been organising the event for four years, said he chose the date as it falls just five days before the World Cup kicks off in South Africa. A source close to the group said: "The boys were disappointed when they heard that the two dates were falling so close together.

"After a big gig like that in their home country and in front of their Irish fans, they would generally have had a few drinks to relax, but this time they'll be sticking to water so that they're on top of their game the next day.

"Nicky, in particular, would take it all very seriously and wouldn't want to let his teammates down when he gets out onto the pitch."

The dad of two (31) is a former professional football player, who was signed to Leeds United for two years as a goalkeeper, before he returned to Dublin and forged a pop career.

He and his bandmates will join celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, comedian James Corden and cricket player Brian Lara for the match.

Zinedine Zidane is coming to Old Trafford.

The legendary French international will top the bill at a star-studded match in June for Soccer Aid.

Zidane retired in 2006 but the former three times World Player of the Year will return for his first visit to Old Trafford since 2003.

Seven years ago next week the 1998 World Cup and 2000 European Championship winner was part of the Galactico Real Madrid side who, though losing a sensational 4-3 semi final, knocked United out of the Champions League on aggregate.

Zidane, who also played at Old Trafford for Juventus, will be part of an illustrious celebrity line-up for Soccer Aid including Robbie Williams, Gordon Ramsay, Ricky Hatton and ex-United stars Teddy Sheringham and Henrik Larsson.

The match will take place at Old Trafford on Sunday June 6.
