The singer - who has announced a string of stadium and arena shows with Robbie Williams back in the group line-up - said he spent Tuesday thinking the vehicle had been swiped.

But Owen owned up on the Radio 1 breakfast show on Wednesday morning to just misplacing it.

"I just left it at some friend's house. We were speaking to the friend and said we lost it - and they never said it's on our drive!"

He and the group joined presenter Scott Mills to talk about the tour dates, which were announced at a press conference at London's Savoy Hotel.

The band said they may add further shows to the 14 UK dates which have so far been announced for next year.

Williams said: "See what happens. If demand is there I'm sure we can wrangle something."

The last time the five-piece played live together was in 1995.

Progress Live 2011 will feature hits from the band's early days, Williams' solo career, and tracks recorded since they reunited.

Take That have ruled themselves out of playing Glastonbury next year.

It had been rumoured that the band may play the Somerset event as their touring schedule is currently empty on June 24-26 – the dates of the festival.

However, speaking to Scott Mills on BBC Radio 1, they quashed the rumours. "No, we're not," Gary Barlow said when asked if they were playing.

Mark Owen added: "I love going as a spectator, I've been a few times. We have a big production, we have a big show, I don't think we could put our stage in there, I don't think it's possible.

"If we're having a good time we might get on the bus and go down. We can go and take our caravan and watch a few other bands."

The singer said he only remembered they were there when he noticed a recording light on one of the cameras to show it was relaying pictures.

Williams, appearing on Radio 1's breakfast show, said he initially came up with a wheeze to present an online show from his home.

"I had this idea once to put cameras in my bedroom. You know those ideas that you instantly regret and forget about - 'what would be a great is if I put cameras in my bedroom and I did a web-show from my bed'," he said.

"And I put them in and forgot they were there. It was seven days in and I saw this yellow light in the corner and I was like 'this is feeding somewhere, somewhere's picking this up'. Very embarrassing."

Williams left Take That in 1995 after famously loading a car with champagne and heading off to Glastonbury for a "lost weekend" with Oasis's Gallagher brothers.

He has subsequently played the festival as a solo act, but Take That dismissed rumours that they were to play as a band at next year's event.

Williams said: "Definitely not happening. It's muddy and wet and loads of other people on."
