SEXY celebs are making this year’s Sport Relief a record-breaker by raising more money than ever before for good causes.
Britain’s sauciest girls and hunkiest guys have joined forces to prove they’re fit for purpose.
And Sport Relief chiefs are now hoping all the celeb backing will boost the total raised to a whopping £40millon.
That would make it the highest amount ever raised for the charity.
Last time the event was held, back in 2008, the total was an impressive £28.5m.
But with our stars going all out this year, bosses are convinced it will be a record-breaker.
A spokeswoman says: “We are confident the great British public will be as generous as ever.”
The latest hot stars to sex up the campaign are supermodel Kate Moss and saucy girlband The Saturdays.
Catwalk queen Kate, 36, posed in a silver dress made partly from recycled malaria nets to highlight the high death rate from the disease in poor parts of Africa.
She says: “I was shocked to hear that one child dies from malaria in Africa every 30 seconds. That’s why I was happy to be involved.
“The dress is absolutely gorgeous and I loved wearing it. It’s a great way of raising awareness of the seriousness of malaria, a disease which is both preventable and treatable.
“Donating just £5 can pay for a net which helps to protect from the potentially fatal mosquito bites that spread malaria.”
Kate’s dress will be auctioned off to raise cash for Sport Relief.
Also pitching in with eye-catching clothes are David Beckham, 34, and singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor, 30, who both designed T-shirts to raise money for poor and disadvantaged people in the UK and around the world.
And The Saturdays will be doing their bit at an Old Trafford football match on May 1 when a team of celebs will take on Manchester United legends.
The foxy fivesome will warm up the crowd at United Relief Live with their hits including Work and Issues.
The match will feature a team of former Red Devils and celebrity fans playing as a Manchester United XI, kicking off against a team of The Rivals, including Paddy McGuinness, 36, Tim Lovejoy, 41, and George Lamb, 30.
George says: “It’s going to be a great day. United Relief Live is about having fun with family and friends as well as raising money for people who have unimaginably tough lives.
“Peter Crouch is lending me a pair of boots, so it’s game on.”
Tickets cost between £5 and £15 and are available from sportrelief.com or on 0161 868 8000.
Other stars who have already done their bit for the charity include telly babe Christine Bleakley, 31, who water-skiied across the English Channel last week.
And a squad of cyclists including David Walliams, 38, Fearne Cotton, 28, and Davina McCall, 42, pedalled 1,000 miles from John O’Groats to Land’s End to raise cash.
The money-making comes to a head in a TV extravaganza this Friday with a night of fundraising live on BBC1, with the action kicking off at 7pm.
Music will be provided by top acts including Cheryl Cole, 26 – provided she recovers from bronchitis in time – boyband JLS and Robbie Williams, 36.
The show will see a Strictly Come Dancing Sport Relief Special, hosted by Tess Daly, 38.
Dragon’s Den stars Duncan Bannatyne, 61, and Peter Jones, 43, will swap their stuffy suits for sparkly sequins to pair up with professional dancers Natalie Lowe, 29, and Lilia Kopylova, 31.
Other highlights on the night include a new Gavin & Stacey “Smithy” sketch, starring James Corden, 31.
It sees his character Smithy taking Manchester United stars including Wayne Rooney, 24, Rio Ferdinand, 31, and Michael Carrick, 28, through a hilarious training session.
Another sketch sees Smithy in his tennis whites, showing Britain’s No 1 Andy Murray, 22, how to ace his way to victory.
Other shows to get the Sport Relief treatment include an Ashes To Ashes special featuring sporting and entertainment legends from the 80s, and special editions of Masterchef and A Question of Sport Relief.
The all-star line-up will also be bringing viewers special reports from various Sport Relief projects in Africa as well as in the UK.
And for members of the public who want to take part, the ultimate challenge is doing the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile on March 21.
Participants can choose to run one, three or six miles and sign up for their nearest event at sportrelief.com, helping the good sports to hit the magical £40m mark.
