| ROBBIE Williams is celebrating becoming a dad after wife Ayda had a girl named Theodora “Teddy” Rose.
The overjoyed singer, 38, announced: “Baby, Mummy and Daddy are all rockin’.”
The Take That star rushed to London’s private Portland Hospital on Tuesday morning as Ayda Field, 33, went into labour with their first child eight days early.
Teddy was born at 3.33pm weighing a healthy 7lb 4oz.
A source said last night: “Robbie was at Ayda’s side throughout — she did so well. They are spending their first night together as a happy family.”
The singer’s close pal Jonathan Wilkes tweeted: “Just had the best news!”.
Robbie wrote on his website: “Praise be, it’s Theodora Rose Williams, affectionately known as Teddy. Thank you for your best wishes xxxx.”
Teddy’s arrival came two days after Robbie finished a string of solo comeback gigs — during which he joked about rushing off stage if Ayda gave birth. Rob met the TV actress in 2006 and they married four years later at his Los Angeles home.
Last week Robbie told The Sun about his fears at becoming a dad. He said: “I still don’t know how to do anything for myself... if I don’t know how to look after me, how can I look after her? But I’m sure this is all very natural.”

| GARY Barlow was the first of a host of stars to congratulate new dad Robbie Williams yesterday.
The Take That star, whose daughter Poppy was tragically stillborn last month, left a heartfelt message for his bandmate following the birth of baby Teddy.
Dad-of-three Gary, 41, tweeted: “Massive congrats Rob and Ayda. So happy for you.”
Robbie, 38, broke the news of his daughter’s birth on his personal blog.
The Angels singer and wife Ayda, 33, have called her Theodora Rose, or Teddy for short.
Boyzone star Ronan Keating, 35, and Chris Moyles, 38, both tweeted: “Congrats to Robbie Williams and Ayda.”
Corrie’s Antony Cotton, 37, said: “Love to Ayda and Robbie and congratulations to Theodora Rose on her arrival into the world!”
And X Factor star Marcus Collins, 24, told Robbie: “I bet she is gorgeous!”
Stage star Jonathan Wilkes, 34, one of Robbie’s best mates, tweeted: “Right bed time! Got a big day tomorrow I’m meeting a new little lady!! X”
Robbie revealed last week he and Ayda had deliberately avoided a wacky celebrity name for Theodora Rose.
He told Chris Evans on his radio show: “It’s a very solid, old-school name.”

| Theodora Rose Williams. Doesn’t sound like the offspring of a pop singer and an actress, does it? She was introduced to the world this week as the daughter of an A-list couple, but her name sounds more like a librarian’s. Surely Teddy, the newborn baby of Robbie Williams and Ayda Field, his American wife, should have been called something a little more rock ’n’ roll?
There were so many other options: Candy (the name of Williams’s latest single); Roberta (after Daddy); Royce or Charmaine (as voted for by radio listeners). A proper celebrity name – something as sweetly eccentric as Orange or Pear – would have helped her mingle with the children of her parents’ Hollywood friends. Instead, she will share her name with a sixth-century Byzantine empress, the daughter of a Roman Emperor, and the subject of a 1749 Handel oratorio.
Williams had promised his daughter wouldn’t have a “mad celebrity baby name” but something “very solid, old-school”. Theodora is certainly that – nearly 2,000 years old, to be precise.
Of Greek origin, meaning “God’s gift” – from theos (God) and doron (gift) – Teddy has it in common with Theodora Richards, daughter of Rolling Stone Keith and model Patti Hansen, who made up for such a sound choice by then landing her with the middle name Dupree.
Picking the right name can be tricky, and Mr and Mrs Williams aren’t the first high-profile couple to turn to ancient Greece for inspiration. First, there was Zachary, the son of Elton John and David Furnish, whose name comes from Zacharias, another Greek word meaning “remembrance of the Lord”. Kourtney Kardashian, the younger sister of American reality TV star Kim, named her daughter Penelope (from penelops, a predatory bird); while actress Hilary Duff’s toddler is called Luca, from the Greek Loukas, or “man from Lucania”.

| ROBBIE WILLIAMS’ fans reckon they have cracked the mystery surrounding his newborn baby’s unusual name.
The internet was buzzing yesterday with the theory he has called his little girl after a US president.
Theories have been spreading among fans that he and wife Ayda Field called their six-day-old kid Theodora ‘Teddy’ Rose after iconic American leader Theodore ‘Teddy’ Roosevelt.
Other baby name anoraks have been speculating the “Rose” is a play on Roosevelt’s surname — and a reference to Robbie’s belief she will be an “English rose”.
There was even talk Teddy was a coded declaration from Robbie that he’d become a born-again Christian — as it can mean “God’s gift” and that he announced her birth on his blog with the words, “Praise be”.
But the guessing game will now have to stop — after Robbie piped up yesterday.
He told a pal last night: “All this stuff is utter nonsense — I’m sick of the gossip.
“She’s called Theodora just because me and the wife loved the traditional name.
“We also wanted to choose a name that could be shortened so we could use the abbreviated name as her middle one — hence Theodora “Teddy”.
“The Rose part is nothing to do with us viewing her as some future English rose.
“We just thought she looked like a lovely flower when we first saw her, so Rose it was.” To be fair, it’s easy to see how the rumours started.
Teddy has been a top name in the States for decades — for both girls and boys.
It’s due to the legendary status of Roosevelt, who was president from 1901 to 1909.
Little Teddy is set to get pampering from Robbie’s dad Pete and the rest of the family.
A close pal said: “Pete will be seeing Teddy this week and has stacks of presents waiting to give to Rob from him and family and friends.”
It’s probably a good thing Robbie has no desire to have her follow in Republican Roosevelt’s steps.
She might have turned out like Sarah Palin.

| The Take That star's wife, Ayda Field, gave birth to their first child earlier this week and the couple chose an unusual name for her.
Fans have been busy trying to work out why they selected it and gave the little one the affectionate nickname Teddy.
The most popular theory is that they were inspired by the Republican president of the early 20th century, who was also known as Teddy.
However, Robbie has made it clear his daughter is not named after anyone, reports the Sun.
