Gary Barlow’s Take That co-star Robbie Williams has reportedly been begging him to help secure an appearance on The X Factor 2011 live shows! According to Now magazine this week, Robbie wants the chance to ‘redeem’ himself following his last solo performance on the show in 2009.
The performance of the then new solo track ‘Bodies’ didn’t go down well with critics or fans, with claims that the Take That star looked like he was on drugs with ‘wild eyes’ throughout the performance.
A source said: “Robbie was fine when he appeared with take that last series, but he really wants a chance to reprieve himself after that outing two years ago
“He came under so much fire. It was the beginning of the end of working for ages.”
And the source says Robbie hopes new judge Gary BarlowGary Barlow will be the key to his comeback.
“Now that Gary’s on the show, Robbie’s hoping he can persuade the bosses to give him another chance to show off his new work,” the insider revealed. “Robbie’s enjoyed touring with Take That, but he’s solo performance at heart.”
Gary’s previously blabbed about Robbie’s X Factor obsession, saying: he’s such an X Factor fan, he used to get it taped and sent to him in LA.”

| Now that they're best buds again, Robbie Williams has appealed to his Take That mate Gary Barlow to get him back on The X Factor.
Robbie, 37, has asked Gary, 40, to convince producers to let him perform some of his new material during the live shows.
It comes after Robbie's last solo performance in 2009 was branded a disaster.
Robbie, who's a huge fan of the show, was widely panned when he performed his single Bodies on the show because of his strange dance moves and ‘wild eyes'.
‘Robbie was fine when he appeared with Take That in the last series, but he really wants a chance to reprieve himself after that outing two years ago,' says our source.
‘He came under so much fire. It was the beginning of the end of working by himself for ages.'

| The return of Mr Nice Guy: Gary Barlow is a hit with viewers and contestants alike as Cowell's replacement on X Factor panel
Simon Cowell is already a distant memory for viewers - now it seems contestants prefer new lead judge Gary Barlow as well.
The Take That singer has spent days with his category of contestants - believed to be the boys - even taking them for a 'last supper' ahead of his Judges Houses' elimination stage.
While in previous years contestants have complained that they have had little attention from Cowell - often just the occasional text at this point in the competition - Barlow, 41, has gone all out.
He has taken eight contestants to Los Angeles on a luxury trip to help him decide who will be his final three put throw to the live shows.
The 41-year-old has also drafted in Robbie Williams as his advisor, to help him decide who is most likely to win and secure the £1 million recording contract.
Barlow took all of his contestants out for dinner in one of the city's finest restaurants.
He told them: 'Good luck to you all and please get a good night's sleep. I know the pressure is horrible but try and enjoy it.'
But he warned he would be ruthless axing those he didn't feel were good enough.
A show insider said the contestants were suprised at how much effort he has put in to get to know them.
Barlow also told them that he had chosen LA because he came to the city to get back on track after his solo career failed.
He said: 'This is a very special place for me as in 1999 when I lost my record deal.
'I didn't know what to do. So I came to LA to start again and to think about everything.
'Being here took me back to the music which is what it has always been about. This town is full of music and I hope you find yourselves tomorrow in the same way that I did.'
Barlow has been keen to show that he will stand up to Cowell, who is the show's creator, and more concerned about finding talent than 'entertainment' for a reality show.
He said at the show's launch last month: 'If Simon gives advice of course I will take it but if he wants to make big changes and I feel passionately about the acts, of course I am going to argue.
'I will fight for the singers I believe in. I have watched the show and one of the things I don't like is if it is cruel.
A lot of these people are not ready. You have to be honest. I hope I'm Mr Honest. I'm serious about music.'
The X Factor is pulling in an average audience in excess of 11 million on Saturday nights.

Says Robbie Williams
GARY BARLOW and Robbie Williams may not have always seen eye to eye in the past.
But when new X Factor judge Gary needed advice on choosing which acts should make it through to his final four, he knew there was only one man for the job.
Speaking in LA where Gary held the auditions for the "judges' houses" stage — to be screened later in the ITV1 series — he revealed his old bandmate was top of the list.
Gary, who is mentoring the boys' category, said: "Robbie seemed like the obvious one.
"I knew he loved the show. He has done since day one.
"He watches all reality TV, including all the cr*p telly like Jersey Shore. He loves it, so I knew he was a big fan of The X Factor.
"When we were on tour I said, 'I need someone for the judges' houses. What do you reckon?' I was thinking he wouldn't be too into it.
"But he was like, 'Please let me'. Then he invited me to his house, to stay while we do it."
The Sun joined both Take That stars in LA as they met to whittle down who should be Gary's contestants for the live shows.
Both were full of praise for each other both personally and professionally. During an enjoyable day of filming they showed their friendship was back to its banter-filled best.
Robbie, 37, relaxed between the auditions with his old pal and his gorgeous wife Ayda Field, 32.
Gary said: "I've been staying with him all week and it's bloody brilliant. I sat backstage and watched the monitor and it was him back as him. It's lovely."
But he joked: "You can't rely on him 100 per cent because you never know what you're going to get — every morning."
Gary also told how he has been taking great delight in winding up Simon Cowell that the current series of The X Factor is setting new ratings records.
Last week its audience peaked at 12million and averaged 10.6million, a first for this point in the show and up 600,000 viewers on the same point last year.
Gary, 40, revealed he has been sending text messages to X Factor creator Cowell, 51, each week to point out the show's success since he left the judging panel to launch the US version.
Gary said: "Those ratings are more bitter than sweet for Simon.
"I text him every time the ratings come in, telling him, 'Here we are again — good luck in America!'
"Obviously we want to beat the American show. We want to be more popular. That's everyone's goal.
"Rivalry is great. We have it as artists. As a band we're competing all the time."
The new head judge — and his pal Robbie — insisted the acts will get more attention with the new panel as mentors. Former judge Cheryl Cole, 28, was criticised for not spending enough time with her contestants last year while Simon was accused of having one eye on the US show's launch.
Robbie — a self-confessed X Factor nut — has not been impressed with the advice and material given to some acts in previous years. He insists it will be better in this series thanks to Gary's hands-on influence.
He said: "I've been downloading the show off the internet to watch how Gary has been getting on.
"I think it's brilliant. It is a new show again. It is fresh and the ratings have proved it. That's what it's all about — if the ratings are good, it's a happy place with happy people. And why not — ratings are what it is all about.
"As a mentor he is going to be full on. He's going to be closer than anyone has been in the past. I think that is what's needed.
"Previously judges maybe gave the acts half an hour if they were lucky. The ones that are going to make it need help, need a guiding arm put around them.
"I love The X Factor. I love the spectacle and being entertained but they haven't got the music right.
"I don't know if that's because of the X Factor people or if the pool of songwriters has dried up. But Gary knows what he is doing.
"In this Gary is competitive — because it is music. I think we will also see a change in his behaviour as he becomes more competitive as the show goes on."
And Gary insists his young proteges will get a rude awakening when they make it to the live shows – with a strict weekly boot camp-style regime.
He revealed: "These boys are going to get a shock because I have a really high standard.
"This is my first year on the show so I want to look good, so people go, 'Wow.'
"I have a weekly schedule for the boys. And the good thing is pretty much when we get home from LA I have nothing in my diary other than this show.
"I know this is all I am going to do so all my attention will wear them down. This is where I want to change things this year. With three new judges, this is where there will be an evolution of the show.
"I think you are going to see for the first time real mentoring going on, with time being put into these kids. And we are going to see a better quality of acts this year because of it.
"I want to feel good after this. If they get eliminated I want them to think, 'I have gone out but I have learnt an awful lot and been supported and helped by my mentor and team.' It is a brilliant team on this show. I know Tulisa is going to put every minute of the week into making her acts good."
While Gary is mentoring the boys, Kelly Rowland, 30, is in charge of the girls, Tulisa Contostavlos, 23, has the groups and show veteran Louis Walsh, 59, the over 25s.
Gary and Robbie are best chums again after ending their feud in recent years — with Gary even staying at Robbie's LA pad during the trip to California.
They were reunited on the latest Take That album and tour and Gary has helped Robbie write his new CD.
While he is revelling in his friendly rivalry with Simon, Gary wished competing BBC show Strictly Come Dancing well.
He said: "I love Strictly and my best friend is in it — Jason Donovan — so I want him to do really well. I think a different type of person watches Strictly."
And on the original Mr Nasty, he added: "Simon has been in touch a lot — he's been saying all sorts.
"Obviously he's not been in the country so it's down to us four, but you can learn so much sitting with him for an hour.
"I've known Simon since 1992, we've known each other a long time — and I never dreamed I would be doing this."

ROBBIE Williams shocked X Factor wannabes by prancing NAKED in front of them with just palm leaves covering his tackle.
The saucy singer came up with the prank when he revealed himself as guest coach for the eight hopefuls in the talent show's "boys" category.
The lads' mentor, Rob's Take That bandmate Gary Barlow, had no idea it was going to happen — and was equally taken aback.
A source said: "It was hilarious. Gary, the contestants and crew were stunned.
"Robbie just stood there stark naked apart from these tiny leaves."
Robbie, whose hits include Rudebox and Sexed Up, stripped for action on the balcony of a Los Angeles house rented for X Factor filming.
The prank was the idea of the 37-year-old star's wife Ayda, 32.

She remembered singer Sinitta pulling a similar stunt in front of the Over-25s category in 2009.
The source said: "Ayda has a cheeky side and convinced Rob it would be a good laugh. He was immediately game." Robbie did keep something private about his privates, however.
He was wearing "naked underwear" — a skin-tight material that leaves little to the imagination but hides naughty bits from the camera.
The prank, after which Robbie helped Gary to whittle the eight down to four, will be screened on the show in a fortnight.
An X Factor spokeswoman said: "Robbie clearly had nothing to hide from the hopefuls."

| X FACTOR mentor Robbie Williams has revealed he is too nice to be a judge on the ITV talent show.
The star, who strips naked and covers his modesty with palm leaves on Saturday’s programme, admitted he could not decide the fate of contestants like his Take That bandmate Gary Barlow.
Robbie, 37, said: “I’d like to be in Gary’s position for one night, but not four months.”

The singer was speaking at the LA mansion where he and Gary, 40, were picking the final four male singers to go through to the live stages of the competition.
He said: “I was sat thinking ‘wow, this is great’. But that’s all it is, a great day.
“I’ve got my personality to look after, if I was doing it I would desensitise myself to the emotion.
“I would find it difficult, who wants to break a 16-year-old’s heart?”
Describing the X Factor as “the biggest thing in the universe when it’s on a roll”, Robbie said he did not think Gary felt the pressure.
He said: “He’s not temperamental and emotional. He does the job and leaves.”
Craig Colton, 22, Joe Cox, 17, James Michael, 20, Luke Lucas, 16, Marcus Collins, 23, Max Vickers, 19, Frankie Cocozza, 18 and John Wilding, 18 hope to go through.
But Robbie added some of them would be better off being axed now rather than being dumped later.

But he doesn't want to join him permanently on the ITV1 show.
Robbie said: "Gary has found his feet really quickly. It would take me a long time. I would like to be in his position for one night, but not four months. What's the point when I could be at home with the dogs? I didn't get in this game to work."
Robbie, 37, is so devoted to his mutts they were bridesmaids at his wedding last year to Ayda Field.
They even share a bed with the couple at their LA mansion.
Robbie has been impressed with Gary on the show.
He said: "He speaks with authority. I work with him and I know he's in a better position to be sat up there saying what he says than I would be."

Robbie was brought in to help his Take That bandmate Gary Barlow choose his finalists and while Robbie enjoyed working with the eight contestants in the boys group, it is not a job he would like to undertake full time as he can't bear the thought of breaking people's hearts.
He said: "I would like to be a judge for a night but not four months. I was sat out there today thinking, 'Wow, this is great'. But that's all it is, a great day.
"I don't think Gaz feels pressure. He's not like me, he's not temperamental or emotional. He goes in, gets the job done and leaves.
"If I was doing it, I would desensitise myself to the emotion. But I would find it difficult. How do you break a 16 year old's heart? Who wants to do that?"
Robbie, 37, believes that Gary is the perfect mentor for the Boys - and warned his bandmate's fellow judges - Tulisa Contostavlos, Kelly Rowland and Louis Walsh - to be ready to see him get competitive once the live stages of the show start.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: "He's going to be hands-on, full-on, closer than anyone has been in the past.
"The ones that are going to make it need a protective arm guiding them. Gary knows what he's doing. He speaks with authority and when I work with him, he's got a better angle on this business.
"So I know he's in a better position up there saying what he's saying than I would be.
"When it comes to anything else other than music, he's not competitive at all. But he's passionate about music and he wants to win."
