А тут в группу ищут Джея happy
A NOTTINGHAM Take That tribute band have been delighted with their success in their first year.

But they still have one thing missing – a Jason Orange.

The Greatest are searching for a dead ringer for Jason to complete their line-up.

"We have been using a part-time guy to do some of our concerts, but we are hoping to get someone who is able to fully commit to the band," said Matt Holbrook, who doubles as Howard Donald.

Matt, 35, of Carlton, is joined in the group by Lee Crimp, of Beechdale, and Danny Hughes, of West Bridgford.

But they have been without a full-time Jason Orange for about eight months since the fourth member Keith Dunne quit the group.

"We've got Lee as Gary Barlow and Danny as Mark Owen," said Matt.

"We really want to get someone from Nottingham who can dance, as Jason is mainly a dancer. It would of course be an advantage if they can sing as well.

"I would like the person to study Jason Orange, as being able to look like the person as much as possible is important.

"This is a massive opportunity for one or maybe two people in case of illness."

In the band's first year, they have performed at the tenth anniversary party of ITV show Loose Women and the Worthing Lions Festival, for which they have been resigned to appear again this year.

"We are looking for someone who hasn't got another job at the same time as we are so busy with bookings they have to be able to commit their time to the group," added Matt.

"As well as Worthing, we are booked at a holiday camp down south over the summer, and there are many more bookings. It is great fun. The success we've had has been amazing.

"We do a mix of old and new Take That. We sing old songs like Pray and Back for Good, along with modern songs like Greatest Day.

"We do image ourselves more on the modern Take That, rather than the 1990s version. We don't go dressing in hot pants. We are a group of grown men who do a professional job.

"We would dearly love to have the opportunity to meet Take That themselves and to get some form of accreditation from them."

Anyone interested in auditioning to join The Greatest can call Matt on 07887 811401 or visit the band's website at www.takethattributeband.com

Re-Take That look for Robbie Williams

Jul 18 2010 Sunday Sun

IT COULD be magic all over again for a Robbie Williams lookalike.

A top tribute band to the fab four are desperate to become the famous five once more, so they’re hunting for a Robbie who’ll be Back For Good.

Re-Take That are on the look out for talented performers ready to rule the world by applying for the coveted spot of the world-class entertainer.

Brothers Paul and Peter Waite, 33, Billy Black, 33, and 28-year-old Ross Petty have been performing as Gary Barlow, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Howard Donald for the past three years.

But they want to be a quintet now Angels singer Robbie has announced he’s rejoining his former band for a £50m album and tour next summer.

Paul Waite, 30, who lives in Washington, Tyne and Wear, said: “We are looking for someone to take on Robbie Williams’ role but we need someone of substance.

“The person needs to resemble him, he has to be able to sing and dance, along with having the same ambition and vision that we all have.

“We want to be the best tribute show in Europe, that’s what we strive for.

“The new addition will also need the right work ethic, attitude and personality.”

“We have already received a number of calls about this, so we are hoping that scores of people will come forward.

“Over the years we have built up a huge fan base so we might even let them help us choose by holding X Factor-style auditions.”

The foursome, who started off as a boyband more than five years ago, decided to become a tribute group when Take That made their comeback.

Paul said: “Whatever we do we want to make sure we do a proper job of it, so we made sure we absorbed all the DVDs, music videos and books.

“I remember from the very first gig it just took off.

“We ended up going to town on it and make sure we spent money on looking like them and sounding like them.

“We had our costumes designed and we didn’t scrimp on anything to make sure we were at the top of our game.”

Re-Take That are performing at Rainton Meadows Arena in Houghton-le-Spring, Tyne and Wear, in October and the band are hoping to unveil their new member at the end of the show.

Anyone wishing to apply can complete the on-line application on www.retakethat.com or email their CV to gary@retakethat.com

All potential Robbies should include a full colour portrait image.

The applications will go through a vetting process before audition venues, dates and times are released.

TributWanted: A Loiner Robbie Williams
Take That UK
Could you be lining up alongside the boys as Robbie?

It's hard enough being a tribute act as it is, what with learning the songs, perfecting the dance routines and trying to look like your inspiration.

However, sometimes fate lends a hand and makes it even more difficult.

That's what has happened to Leeds-based
Take That UK, as the return of Robbie Williams to the real Take That has left them a member short.

They're now searching for a 'Robbie' to join them, as they continue to tour the UK and Europe.

Take That UK, have put out the call to budding young Robbie's to step up to the mark and see if they have what it takes to shine in the role.

Take That
Robbie Williams (far left) in the early 1990s with Take That

Byron Lee, Take That UK's Howard, has been heading the search to find the fifth member for their band. Having recently returned from Germany and having already toured all over the UK, finding a suitable Robbie is not going to be an easy task, especially as they'd ideally like him to be based in the Leeds area.

Take That UK have been around since 2006 when the original band delighted their fans worldwide by announcing their return. Since that time hit singles and albums have followed alongside sell-out tours.

This has all been good news for Byron and his fellow band members Lee Otway (Mark), Ryan Logan (Gary) and Tom Lunn (Jason) who have been able to satiate the desire of Take That fans, needing an extra fix of their heroes.

The band hope that their new Robbie, wherever they find him, will be able to settle in quickly, as there is a whole repertoire and dance moves to learn for the lucky contender.

If you think you could be the Robbie that Take That UK are looking for, please contact Byron for further information, and to arrange an audition.

Take That said everything changes - and they were right, as a tribute band from Wearside knows all too well.

Now that Robbie Williams has re-joined his old boy-band, Re-Take That have had to make some line-up changes of their own.

They're hoping they've successfully relit their fire though, with Peter Owen.

He'll have to fit into a quartet who've been together since 2005, when the real Take That reformed - without Robbie.

Paul Waite, who plays Gary Barlow, said: "We took a look at the band and the guys we had in our current band and we thought, 'We could pull this off'."

And they did, across the North East, quite happily for five years before Robbie spoiled it all by coming back.

Back for good

Paul says it was quite tricky finding a new Robbie.

They started advertising in the summer of 2010 and had 50 applicants.

The strongest, Peter Owen, has been in the business a few years, working in theatres and four-part harmony groups, but had only touched on his ability to sing, and look, like Robbie.

Re-Take That try to reproduce the spectacle as much as possible

And, for a live tribute band, looking as much like the real thing as possible is essential.

Not easy when the real thing is performing all-out extravaganzas like The Circus tour.

Paul said: "We spent months studying the Circus DVD to get the mannerisms. We wanted to recreate the whole experience.

"Take That, the band, when they put on a concert it's a massive experience and we just wanted to recapture that, which I feel we've done."

Could it be magic?

Re-Take That have a full, four piece band, backing dancers and all the flashing lights and pyrotechnics.

Ross Petty, who plays Jason, said: "Stilt walkers, fire breathers, it's like a really big carnival atmosphere. It's Take That - just on a slightly smaller scale."

They're proud of their attention to detail.

Ross said: "The costumes that we wore are exact, hand-made replicas of what Take That wore and, when we met Jason [Orange] in Hammersmith, that was one of the main things that he said to us.

"He noticed that Gary's double breasted and mine doesn't have any silver bits on the sleeve. He was really blown away by how much time and effort we'd put into it."

It's a shame, then, that they think he got them mixed up with another tribute band in a radio interview.

They say, after complimenting them on their mannerisms and attention to detail, he mentioned on BBC Radio 2 that he'd seen a good tribute - but then mentioned a different band.
