| ROBBIE Williams admits it's his ego that stops him being in Take That full-time.
The singer and Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen have been on a record-breaking Progress tour, which ended on Friday.
And Rob reckons his big head means he needs to go back to being a solo artist now the tour is over.
Rob said: "The gigs have been absolutely amazing - the best period of my career so far with those boys.
"Sharing it with somebody is much better than doing it by yourself, but then ego, want, need and a whole heap of other things kick in.
"And you start preparing for your own tour... and the other boys are going away for a bit and I don't really know what's on the cards with them.
"But we have to ride again, we have to - it's too much fun."

| OH dear, the rest of Take That aren’t X-actly fans of Gary Barlow’s latest gig...
Howard Donald and Robbie Williams have slammed hit ITV show X Factor, where Gaz is one of the new recruits on the judging panel – alongside N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos, Kelly Rowland and show veteran Louis Walsh.
Howard, 43, is particularly scathing of contestants finding long-lasting success via X Factor, saying the winner will have “disappeared” in a year.

Clearly, he has forgotten that Gary, who has his own record label that nurtures new artists, is a proven talent-spotter.
Howie says: “You get a lot of these winners in England who win the X Factor...
“Basically they go straight to No.1 so they’ve had no idea how to cope with the success – and the success comes to them really quickly.
“They must find it more difficult.
“Normally a year later they are not in the limelight any more – they’ve disappeared.”
Oddly, this is the same Howard Donald who was going to let his 12-year-old daughter Grace audition for Britain’s Got Talent – as long as she did it without any help from dad.
My source tells me: “Howard wanted her to do it on her own so she can learn the same way as other contestants.”
And disappear after a year?
Meanwhile, Robbie Williams waded into the row saying that shows like X Factor are all about finding the best voices and not necessarily the next big superstar. Er, try telling that to Leona Lewis, Rob.
Rob, 37, says: “Most shows like this, you’ve got to sing in-tune, sing in key. And I’ve managed to sell 60 million albums without doing either of those things.”
At least he’s honest.
He adds: “I’m an all right singer, but it’s not the most important thing. It’s everything – image, performance, it’s the soap opera of the person’s life and it’s whatever you project.
“The voice has very little to do with it.
“Madonna’s not the best singer, but I love to listen to her. The good singers are in the band behind us.”
Robbie also posted an 11-minute video on his blog of him wandering around his and wife Ayda Field’s LA pad giving a Through The Keyhole-style insight into their plush surroundings – all chandeliers, a four-poster bed, a wall-mounted Christmas card and a wall of mirrors.
Not bad going for a singer who reckons he’s often out of tune and off key...

| ROBBIE Williams has hinted he WILL play more shows with Take That — gushing about how much fun he had on their tour.
Since reuniting with the group for their record-breaking Progress tour this summer, the Stoke-born singer has refused to speculate on whether he would continue performing alongside the quartet.
But, in a new web video, Robbie, 37, gave the strongest hint that he will join them again.
He said: "We have to ride again. We just have to. It's too much fun."
The quintet finished their mammoth 29-date trek in Munich, Germany, last Friday.
And after returning to his Los Angeles mansion, the star uploaded an eleven-minute clip to the net during which he repeatedly thanked fans for all their support.
He said: "Thank you for the love, acceptance adoration and all of the above."
But before he joins Gary, Mark, Howard and Jason on stage again he promised to play a run of solo shows, saying: "There should be a mini tour just for the friendlies soon."

| The new X Factor judge defended the volatile Williams after family audiences on their recent sell out tour complained about his swearing and crude gestures.
Barlow revealed he was keeping close tabs on Robbie to make sure he held it together and was just pleased the wide-eyed star was out of the doldrums.
‘I had a little monitor backstage, so I could keep my eye on him,’ Gary told me.
In contrast to the concerns over Robbie’s antics, Barlow said he was more relieved to see the former LA recluse hit his stride once more.
‘To see him shine like that, that made my tour,’ said Gary. With Williams vowing to prove his critics wrong with a new attempt at a solo career, Barlow is keeping his fingers crossed that Robbie doesn’t lose his way again.
‘I hope so. I wanted to see him back. He’s a brilliant, brilliant performer.’ No matter what Robbie’s plans turn out to be, 40-year-old Barlow said he would continue to work with his duet partner after they famously patched up their feud.
‘Since me and Rob started writing together again two years ago, we’ve actually never stopped,’ he said.
‘We love each other’s company. We love writing together. I’m hoping this partnership stays together for a long time.’
Williams has continued to announce his solo ambition on his blog, in contrast to when he rejoined the band last summer and described it as ‘coming home’.

| Take That have earned a staggering £7million in just six months.
The band have more than £2.5million in the bank and are owed a further £5.1million, putting their turnover at £7.6million, accounts for their newly formed company TT5 have revealed.
The firm was set up three months after Robbie Williams’ return was announced in July last year. The Progress album was released last November, which sold more than two million copies.

But their 2011 tour is thought to have been the real money-spinner. Their first time on the road as a five-piece since 1995 quickly became the biggest tour in UK and Irish history when a record breaking 1.34 million tickets were snapped up in less than 24 hours.
The band, who had a hit with A Million Love Songs, smashed their previous box office record, doubling the tickets sold in a day for The Circus Live Tour in 2008.
A source said: “Touring has seen the band’s finances rocket. It was very, very lucrative and it’s little wonder they have so much in the bank between them.”
Meanwhile, Gary Barlow’s representatives yesterday played down suggestions he could pen this year’s X Factor winner’s first single. A spokesman said: “It is too early to tell what is going to happen.”
