The British rock band caused a stir in 2006 when Turner branded the Back for Good hitmakers "f**king b**llocks" at the Q Awards in London.

The singer/guitarist has now reached out to Gary Barlow and his four fellow singers in a bid to end the feud, confessing he was wrong to criticise the pop stars and has since grown to appreciate their music.

Turner tells Nme magazine, "We love Gary Barlow. I think I really offended him a few years ago, though, which I'm, er, sorry about. I didn't understand it then! Didn't know what were (sic) going on! Trying to ruffle some feathers."

The success of the tour and the album have left commentators speculating on whether Robbie will continue his time with the lads or will once again branch out on his own. Assessing the likelihood of either is a minefield. Robbie was apparently in discussions with Universal regarding his own career but Gary Barlow has been reported as saying that the writing process has been so enjoyable that there may be enough songs for another album. Robbie clearly enjoyed his solo success but was also wracked with personal battles over the years which now seem to be abating. Re joining the band may have been a stabilizing influence at a time when his marriage to Ayda Field signifies that the wild child seems to have finally found some peace and calm. His newly found stability and relationship may however be more of an indication that he is more likely to want to stay in the United States, which is now his home, than to commit himself to endless travelling with Take That. In fact he apparently shunned an invitation by Simon Cowell to appear as a judge on the X Factor for precisely that reason.

This is certainly one of the most difficult bets to call, after all with Williams' track record he may well be unaware of the answer himself!
