Eliot Kennedy and superstar pals return to Sheffield City Hall
Rock legend Bryan Adams and comedy great Peter Kay joined him last year at Sheffield City Hall. Now Eliot, who has worked with everyone from Take That to Celine Dion, is planning to do it all over again with more big names at the same venue on December 16, The Star can reveal. Tickets, for Eliot Kennedy and Star Guests - The Power Of Music, are expected to sell out fast when they go on sale tomorrow, Friday, August 7, at 10am. Eliot, a major singer and bass playing talent in his own right, will be performing many of the hits he's written for some of the biggest names in pop – including Bryan Adams, Celine Dion, Donny Osmond, Boyzone, Blue, SClub7, Lulu, Danni Minogue, Five and Billy Piper. He penned the Spice Girls' number one Say You'll Be There and co-wrote Everything Changes for Take That. The pop writer and producer promises that some of them, and his new breaking acts, will be joining him on stage at the City Hall. Kay, who appeared on the Christmas show last year as his alter-ego, spoof TV talent-show winner Geraldine McQueen, has expressed a keen interest to return – but as himself. There's strong speculation that his close song writing partners Adams and Gary Barlow, plus other members of Take That, may be joining him.
Last year's Christmas Show at Sheffield City Hall sold out and raised £16,000 for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity and Cavendish Cancer Care, who will benefit again. The cast of TV musical drama Britannia High, soul singer Kenny Thomas, and a galaxy of sporting celebrities joined him with Dennis Hobson, who is promoting again, his teenage daughter, Jessica, and local band The Tivoli. "I know everyone wants me to confirm who is coming. But it's complicated trying to organise diaries, flights and slots in everyone's timetables,'' Eliot told The Star. "I'm bursting to announce who we've got. I'm pretty much sure. But I don't want to say anything until we have their names set in stone. "But it will be an amazing concert. It sold out last year. We're expecting it to do the same again. And with some of the people we're bringing to this show, well it's crazy. They're only coming because they are my pals and we're going to have a lot of fun for two great charities." Fight Academy boxing promoter Dennis Hobson, said: "It was an amazing event last year. A lot of people didn't believe we would be bringing Bryan Adams and Peter Kay . But they came. And we believe we will top that." Catherine Newman, Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity's senior fundraiser, said: "We're absolutely overwhelmed. I was speechless when Bryan Adams and Peter Kay turned up. We're thrilled to benefit again this year."

| HE is the saxophonist requested by name by many of the biggest artists across the music industry to add his special touch to their hit records or film theme scores. He’s worked with music stars ranging from James Brown, Dionne Warwick to Lulu; Robbie Williams to Motorhead, Primal Scream and Calvin Harris, film scores ranging from James Bond to the latest Dreamworks production. Yet he also tours with his own four-piece band. Snake Davis may not be a name you instantly recognise, but think of the sax riffs on Take That’s A Million Love Songs, Lisa Stansfield’s Change or M-People’s Moving on Up and you’ll know who we are talking about. It’s not often that Snake ventures this far south to perform - his fans keep him busy with performances across the north of England most of the year, but news of the brilliance of this musician are spreading fast and this will be his fifth visit to Yeovil. Snake is not only an accomplished saxophonist, he is also in demand for his flute, whistle and Japanese Shakuhachi playing. He is joined by drums, bass and keys and together they play a collection of soul, funk and jazz. The Snake Davis band will be appearing at the Quicksilver Mail pub at the top of Hendford Hill, Yeovil, on Friday, October 15, with doors opening at 8pm. Entrance is £10.

Так вот, некотрые фанаты совсем фанаты...они даже набили татухи ТТ-шные
Есть, конечно, очень красивые и эстетичные вроде этой

А есть, на мой взгляд, совсем уже фанатский "борщ" (хотя на вкус и цвет фломастеры, конечно, разные)

Bang on time, Brit singing superstar Lulu arrives at London’s Claridge’s hotel, iPhone clamped to her ear, talking 19 to the dozen. “It’s Gary,” she mouths, meaning none other than Gary Barlow, Take That singer and songwriter, with whom she is making plans for a hush-hush television show. It’s not quite the thing you’d expect from the average 63 year old, but Lulu is anything but average. She has an astonishing 50-year career behind her and shows no sign of slowing down.
This British icon has had number one hits in both the UK and the US, appeared on film and in the theatre. Her television appearances range from being the first teenager to host her very own show, Happening For Lulu, in 1968 through to this year’s guest appearances on Absolutely Fabulous. Along the way she’s had relationships with men as diverse as hairdresser John Frieda and rock god David Bowie, with whom she recorded The Man Who Sold The World in 1974, had a son and is a grandmother. She has an OBE and is also a businesswoman with very successful beauty and hair ranges, Time Bomb and Operation Glam. Exhausting? She certainly gives no sign of being remotely worn out, looking sparky and youthful in her black skinny jeans on enviable legs, a black jacket and plenty of silver jewellery, including large hoop earrings. She sports a black trilby from which wisps of blonde hair escape. And she’s teeny tiny – “Five foot one and shrinking,” she wails – and no more than a size 8, with a mobile, mischievous-looking face that’s a lot more natural than gossip would have you believe. For a start, she clearly does not use Botox – her eyebrows are expressive and her striking green eyes are surrounded by lines that crinkle as she laughs, which she does loudly and often.
She’s close to the Take That boys. In 1993, her collaboration with them, Relight My Fire, gave Lulu her very first number one at the age of 44, almost 30 years after her first UK hit, Shout. She supported the band on tour and even said later she had “a tiny flirtation” with Jason Orange, which she described in her autobiography as the most sexually charged friendship of her life. It’s not hard to see how it could happen – Lulu exudes passion. Born in Lennoxtown, north of Glasgow, in 1948 in a tenement with a “tin bath instead of a bathroom”, she was singing professionally at the age of 13. At 15, she was discovered by Marion Massey, the woman who became her manager, mentor and surrogate mother figure. Marion changed the future star’s name from Marie Lawrie to Lulu and moved her to live with Marion’s parents in St John’s Wood, London. Suddenly, “everything was different” and this “innocent, unworldly” teenager with “a face as round as a football” was flung into the heady world of 60’s showbiz, hanging out with The Beatles and, aged only 20, marrying Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees.
“I’ve been in London for 45 years and only lived in Scotland for 14, yet I feel fiercely Scottish,” she says. So when it comes to the issue of devolution, she’s conflicted. “I don’t want us to split,” she says. “But I don’t live in Scotland, so can’t speak for the issues that bother Scots. However,” she grins, “I do think that Alex Salmond (SNP leader and First Minister of Scotland) is a fantastic character, the epitome of a great Scot – fearless, strong, smart. He’s typical of the good things about Scottish men. They are sturdy, reliable and strong. English men are less, well, emotionally available. Maybe my next husband should be Scottish!”
