Гари Барлоу появится на новом альбоме ULTRAVOX
TAKE THAT's Gary Barlow is to guest on the new ULTRAVOX album, a source close to the band has revealed. Barlow flew over to Studio City Sound in Los Angeles, where the quartet are recording together for the first time since 1984, to record his contribution at the end of February as that was the only window available to him before production rehearsals for TAKE THAT's stadium tour this summer. While the union may be considered unusual, it has not been entirely unexpected. Barlow has long been an admirer of the ULTRAVOX and it was his interpolation of Vienna for the track Eight Letters on TAKE THAT's most recent album Progress that resulted in the writing credit of Barlow / Donald / Orange / Owen / Williams / Ure / Cross / Cann / Currie. And of course, it was at his 40th birthday party concert broadcast on BBC Radio2 that Gary Barlow announced to the world that there was to be a new ULTRAVOX album before Midge Ure joined him on stage for a rendition of Eight Letters segued with Vienna.
The source has described the as-yet-untitled track as "a bit like HURTS..." and that "...it wouldn't sound out of place in The Blitz!".
No release date has been confirmed for the new ULTRAVOX album which will be issued via Universal Music.
