Robbie on babies and Jedward!
Superstar Robbie talks to Holly and Phil about his album, X Factor, and babies!
In the late nineties and early noughties he was one of the biggest popstars in the world, selling 55 million albums worldwide. After three years away from the limelight, pop superstar Robbie Williams returns with Reality Killed the Radio Star.
Robbie talks to Phil and Holly about new beginnings, what he thinks of the X Factor’s Jedward, and whether he's finally settled down with his girlfriend of three years, actress Ayda Field.
Robbie's new album Reality Killed the Radio Star is already a huge success, selling more than 85,000 copies in its first day, and topping the iTunes chart in 16 countries across Europe.
Robbie says the new album is: "as good as anything I've ever done, if not better. I know I say that every time, but that's what I felt and this is what I feel again." Even Robbie's old bandmate Gary Barlow has called it brilliant.
Robbie joined Take That in 1989 when he was just 15 and left in 1995 to pursue a solo career: "It was time for me to take stock and look at who I am."
For 10 years Robbie's solo career was a whirlwind that never stopped, but it took its toll. After his Close Encounters tour finished in December 2006, he made the decision that it was time to disappear for while: "I had to have a rest."
According to reports Robbie has patched things up with Gary Barlow. On a possible reunion he says: "I can't give you a definitive answer. I would like that to happen but who knows what's going to happen in the next few months?”
Robbie made his comeback on X Factor in October, and loves John and Edward: "I think it's an entertainment show. People say it's a singing contest and all that business, but I am entertained by those two." He tips Essex boy Olly Murs to win: "He entertains, he's good-looking, he can sing and he's funny."
