Robbie Williams shares stage with Port couple

IT arguably was the sexiest marriage proposal ever staged.
Port Macquarie romeo James Lummus called on British bad-boy rocker Robbie Williams to help ask for the hand of his “angel”' – in front of 1100 fans.
Mr Lummus had to be fast to snare tickets so he and
girlfriend Elina Aho could see Williams’ Sydney concert in the first place – they sold out in 45 seconds.
But the determined 21-year-old did – and then it was over to Williams.
“Stage manager” Mr Lummus slipped a pre-written note to the rock star’s minder from his front-row seat in The Metro theatre.
“I’ve been summoned to the front of the stage,” Williams told the audience after his final song.
He called Mr Lummus on stage.
“I believe you’ve got something you want to say?” the artist asked the nervous trainee pilot.
“My darling Elina [at which point the crowd roared] ... we’ve known each other for a few years now. Will you marry me?”
A ring was in his outstretched hand.
Then Williams jumped from the stage, walked up to the
31-year-old lady in question and asked: “What do you say?”
Her answer, of course, was yes.
Williams repeated her acceptance over the mic and the crowd roared.
The groom-to-be received a hug on stage from Williams, who then lead the crowd in an impromptu singalong for a few bars of She’s the One.
The bride-to-be, surrounded by screaming fans, said she didn’t notice the hubub. It was as if they “were the only two in the crowd”.
She had captured some of the concert on her phone, including the proposal, so it was very quickly on website YouTube and is now “viral” news.
The couple is yet to set a date for their nuptials.
But superstar Williams will be on the guest list.
