Robbie Williams will be appearing on Ant and Dec's TV Christmas show.

The Bodies singer has agreed to perform on the one-off variety show, developed by the Geordie duo, which is expected to be similar to Morecambe and Wise's famous show, reports The Sun.

"Robbie is really excited to be on board - they have already been discussing ideas together," a source told the paper.

"Ant and Dec have been given the green light to make a Christmas special which will be ITV1's big family entertainment show this Christmas. They will be filming it when they get back from the Australian jungle in December after presenting the next series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here."

Ant and Dec's festive special will include a mixture of sketches, performances, guests and interviews - with a special performance between Robbie and the comic presenters planned as the grand finale.

Put on your Christmas socks, make yourself a turkey sandwich, and clear a space for the whole family in front of the telly because Ant & Dec will be opening their doors and inviting you in for mulled wine and a big barrel of laughs.

Set inside Santa’s Cabin, complete with roaring fire, stockings and a talking moose head and filmed in front of a studio audience, the boys will welcome a whole host of showbiz friends to join in the celebrations.

Donning their Christmas jumpers, Ant and Dec will be in full festive mood as they welcome special guests, including pop legend Robbie Williams, through their front door to come in and join the party.

There’ll be festive fun when Britain’s Got Talent judges Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden go head to head in some traditional Christmas party games and X Factor winner Alexandra Burke will be performing the Christmas song, All I Want For Christmas Is you.

Expect surprises aplenty for unsuspecting members of the audience, musical performances to blow the viewers’ novelty socks off, including a special Christmas number from Robbie himself, and renditions at the front door from resident carol singers, The Saturdays.

And with a host of comedy sketches featuring Ant and Dec and all their guests there’s sure to be lots of laughter.

So nudge granddad, because it’s time for a huge Christmas sized serving of Ant and Dec. It’s Christmaaaaassssss!!

Entering into the festive spirit, the singer struts his stuff with the telly double act for their Christmas Special, which will be screened on ITV1 on Boxing Day.

Robbie, 35, who has been pals with Ant and Dec for years, has agreed to sing a number of songs on the programme, plus take part in Morecambe and Wise-style sketches.

It’s not the first time the Angels singer and the telly duo have teamed up.

The star also joined the pair for some comical hi-jinks on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway back in 2004.

Piers and Amanda arrive for some banter and then end up dressed up as giant snowmen.

Geri Halliwell also lends her support and is transformed into a living doll while the boys become action figures.

With the help of a bit of camera trickery and some clever props, the trio stand in boxes and appear to be miniature versions of themselves.

The show is promising to be a mixture of comedy skits, performances and interviews with some star-studded appearances.

Dec takes on the role of Buttons while celebrity interior designers Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan, who appeared on this year's I'm A Celebrity, play the ugly sisters.
