TAKE THAT must get a lot of "offers they can't refuse" - free stuff, holidays and groupies of a certain age. But you would think the Godfather-style Don Vito Corleone offers would be a rare occurrence now GARY BARLOW, MARK OWEN, JASON ORANGE, HOWARD DONALD and ROBBIE WILLIAMS are sensible and well-behaved gentlemen.
Well, for the first time since they were touring the grubby nightclub circuit, the manband encountered some shifty Mafia-style characters.
The boys spent two days in Bulgaria this week filming a controversial video for their next single Kidz. And their 90-strong entourage, made up of burly dancers and crew, caught the eye of the country's answer to Don Corleone.
A source said: "Bulgaria was chosen because it is one of the few places left in Europe where Take That don't get recognised and hassled.
"They flew out earlier this week to film in secret on the biggest film set in Europe. Local TV crews said the band were 'harder to find than a dragon's tooth' because security was so tight. But they must have caught the eye of a few characters when they arrived at the airport.
"Some threatening-looking blokes in big leather jackets made it their business to find out what was going on. They followed the crew and were raising a few eyebrows.
"For the entire 48 hours Take That were out there, including two 5am starts, a group of ten guys kept an eye on the production.
"It was unnerving stuff but thankfully they didn't want any trouble or money. The band had a full police escort for the entire trip."
Take That have some top security to make sure Howard doesn't have to crack out his karate skills.

The boys are gearing up for the biggest night of the music calendar on Tuesday at the Brit Awards.
They will unveil the amazing choreography for Kidz they had planned for The X Factor last year.
SIMON COWELL stepped in and stopped them doing it because he thought 50 dancers waving riot shields was a bit inflammatory.
