The Mighty Boosh's Noel Fielding was among the stars who helped kick off 2010's Teenage Cancer Trust comedy benefit show at London's Royal Albert Hall tonight (March 23).

Making his sixth appearance at the charity event he turned up onstage sporting a new bleached blonde look, a grey boiler suit and golden boots.

"I asked for Kurt Cobain but I got [Moors murderer) Myra Hindley, fuck you," he declared as he arrived onstage before adding: "I am all The Police I couldn't even pick one, if Gary Numan fucked Andy Pandy, this is what he'd look like."

The star, who is an ambassador for the Teenage Cancer Trust went on to make jokes about Slash and TV presenter Bruce Forsyth before he sang a song called 'Monkey Edwards' about one of his neighbours.

Earlier co-compere Jimmy Carr made two brief appearances in which he took a jovial dig at Madonna and organiser Roger Daltry while Gavin & Stacey star James Corden was the main compere for the night which saw each comedian introduced onstage to songs by Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Kasabian and The Cribs.

The night saw a host of performers mock pop and rock stars including Take That's Mark Owen and his former bandmate Robbie Williams, Susan Boyle and Iggy Pop who American comedian Rich Hall rapped for previously appearing in a car insurance advert.

"At what point did Iggy Pop start advertising car insurance? What the fuck? Does the man have no dignity whatsoever?," he jibed.

Further performances came from Welsh comedian Rhod Gilbert, Glaswegian stand up star Kevin Bridges, Tommy Tiernan and Manchester comic Jason Manford, who told a funny anecdote about how he met The Cure's Robert Smith with Hollywood star Mickey Rourke when he was in the green room on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross.

After the interval, a short film was played out showing survivors of teenage cancer before The Who's frontman and patron of the Teenage Cancer Trust championed the Royal Albert Hall event which is now in its tenth year and brought on former sufferer Jamie Riddick.

He also revealed to the crowd that Depeche Mode's recent gig at the venue last month raised £400,000 for the charity.

The Teenage Cancer Trust shows continue tomorrow (March 24) with the recently reformed Suede line-up.

Meanwhile this year's Shockwaves NME Awards Big Gig will take place as part of the run, with this year's Teenage Cancer Trust Outstanding Contribution To Music recipents The Specials playing on March 29.

TAKE THAT! TONY'S BACK, TOO

When Tony Blair stepped down as Prime Minister in June 2007, a colleague of mine was bereft.

"It's like Take That splitting up all over again," she cried.

Blair was the charismatic one, the Robbie Williams - although with his Middle Eastern tan, he had more in common with Jason Orange when he appeared at Trimdon Labour Club on Tuesday.

Watching his sparkling performance in his former Sedgefield constituency, where he brought the mundane to life with a gesture, a smile and a wag of his index finger, he reminded us of his world-class skills. Talk about Relight My Fire, this was enough to Inflame Dave's Ire.

"It's nice to see him make a speech he's not being paid for," was one of the Tory leader's best lines of the still-notannounced election campaign so far.

So how have Tony's former bandmates fared in the intervening years? Well, let's see. There's the one who had an affair, the Mark Owen of the bunch, although admittedly Prezza only had one dalliance, not 10. Then there's the one who wrote all the words and vied to be leader - welcome on stage Gordon Brown, the Gary Barlow of politics.

Alistair Darling, like Howard Donald, who sang lead on two tracks of the last album, has performed well when brought into the limelight. And Jason Orange, whose "drive from the old days", according to bandmates, "seems to have died down" clearly has a lot in common with Jack Straw.

Like Take That without Robbie, they're fine without Tony. But they'd be so much better if he came Back For Good.

Howard Donald says he and Robbie Williams once had a ‘group wank’. The singer, 40, admits they masturbated in a room together when Take That first started out. ‘It were me and Rob… it only happened once,’ he says. Bandmate Mark Owen , 37, watched as Rob, 34, and Howard pleasured themselves. ‘That was an odd one, that,’ he tells Q magazine . ‘I think I was more of an observer.’

It sounds like they definitely were “curious.” Robbie Williams a sexy Aquarius guy, who loves to have fun, has never been married. In 1995, he left the Take That band to embark on a solo career.

In the past, Williams appears to question his own sexuality in some well-known songs, such as “Old Before I Die“, where he sings: “Am I straight or gay?” In his documentary film Nobody Someday, he said:

“As it happens, I’ve never slept with a man. I’ve never done anything with a man. The thought has passed my mind, but it always stops at his bits. I’m not discounting it, but it hasn’t appealed enough for me to do it — yet.”

Amy Winehouse first signed with EMI Music Publishing ahead of the release of her debut album 'Frank'. TAKE That have just announced brand new datea for their 2010 summer stadium tour, The Circus Live, at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. Gary, Howard, Jason and Mark will tour the UK 2010 and 2011.

Take That Presented: The Circus Live, broke all UK box office records when tickets for the 14-date stadium tour went on sale last month. Toppling Michael Jackson's 1987 Bad Tour as the fasting selling tour in UK history, an incredible 750,000 tickets were snapped up by fans across the country.

Kirsty Gough was inspired to climb Mount Kilimanjaro by her admiration for Take That band member Gary Barlow, who did the climb for Sport Relief.

Money raised from the five-day climb later this month will go to Taunton-based charity Stand Against Violence.

The charity was set up by Adam Fouracre after his brother Lloyd Fouracre was murdered in a drunken attack the day before his 18th birthday in 2005.

Kirsty, 22, said: “My motivation was initially because Gary Barlow from Take That had climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.

“I decided to do the climb for the charity because when Lloyd died it affected me. I kept in touch with Adam and I know how hard he works on the charity. He has done some fantastic things.

“I am absolutely terrified about doing the climb. Every time I think about it I feel sick. I did the Bristol 10k run and I’m preparing by doing lots of cardio exercise. The main thing that’s going to be a problem is the altitude sickness.

“I had known Lloyd for about three years. We went to Ladymead Community School together and had quite a lot of classes together.

“He always used to help me out in Science because I never knew what I was doing. He was always cracking jokes in German and French lessons.

“I am doing extra work to pay for my trip. I’ve had four separate part-time jobs as well as university.”

Kirsty will take on her Kilimanjaro challenge from June 14.
