Musical evidence of this reunion has finally surfaced as Robbie and Gary Barlow have co-written and performed a duet together called Shame. It’s the first time they’ve recorded and performed since Robbie’s departure from Take That in 1995.

Shame will be released in Australia on October as part of Robbie’s comprehensive Greatest Hits collection In And Out Of Consciousness – The Greatest Hits 1990 – 2010.

The song, which will appear on Robbie's upcoming greatest hits album, is called Shame, and is quite possibly about Barlow's recent alliance with David Cameron. That's right, another greatest hits album from Robbie, and this time it's a double so there are probably at least four versions of Robbie's duet with Nicole Kidman (LiS is crossing its fingers for a calypso one). It will be called, displaying that characteristic Williams wit, In and Out of Consciousness. Does the self-knowing compensate for the self-obsession? 'Tis the Williams conundrum.

Williams's recent quote about the album, however, suggests his self-knowledge has been overstated: "The great thing about the album is that it's not only a celebration of my past but also a bridge to the future." Greatest hits album. Future. Don't see those words together often, do you?

So, yeah, we conferred with our totally made up psychologist Dr. Sven Bullshitta (think Dr. Linda Papadopoulos, but with less vowels) and the diagnosis for Robbie and Gary’s body language is not good.

Appaza, “looking at anything else but each other” and “staying the fuck out of each other’s way” while getting together in Los Angeles to film a video for their duet Shame hints that they may not exactly be the bessies of mateys.

Come on, boys. Just get drunk and play strip Twister. You’ll be closer than ever.

And may get to lick each other.
